  • This incident should be reported to the ambulance service that operates in OPs area as well as Pals and Healthwatch.

The trust will refer to the HCPC (if a paramedic) and there will be an investigation where the defendants fitness to practice will be examined.

If a CFR (Community First Responder), Technican or lower, they are managed directly by the trust and will go through their procedure.

These people seriously violate the trust between care giver and patient in their time of need and damage the service for everyone.

I hope this person is identified and dealt with appropriately.

The one who came out to me recently transported me to hospital! He said he didn't usually do it, but he didn't think he needed to call an ambulance, and I agreed. I'd happily have let DH drive me but the paramedic knew he'd been up all night.

And I'm not convinced the OP's ex would be much use as a witness. The OP suggested that he wasn't exactly supportive or sympathetic, thought she was making too much of it etc.

On the contary the ex would be useful in any hearing. If i was panel pannel and aware their was a witness to any incident, i would question the witness as well. or atget statementatement in.

OP, for what it's worth I don't think you should give details of any action you take.

If you want to give an update - and only if you want to - I think we'd all love to know how you're getting on. For me, the most important thing would be to know that you've done the right thing foryou - whatever that happens to be :)

Thank you, very nicely put. I'd just add that the OP has a lot of well wishers here.:)

Well indeed you might, but the confidence people are placing in the OP's ex backing her up is, I think, misplaced.
had just had an argument with my ex after he too intimated I was a bit nuts
My ex says he doesn't think he meant any harm by his conversation.
So you ask for a statement, or you question him, and basically the OP's ex says something like "my ex has always been a bit nutty, I wasn't surprised she didn't agree to the ECG because she's a bit like that, I'm sure the paramedic didn't mean any harm."

And the OP KNOWS this is the kind of thing he will say.

So where is her useful witness now? No help at all.

I'm not saying she should NOT report this chap. I am saying it is none of our business whether she does or not, we don't have the right to know what she decides even if we'd like to know, and if she doesn't think her ex will back her up I wouldn't blame her in the slightest if she didn't.

I think many of us are aware of Deanna's ex and how supportive he may or not be better than a new poster who doesn't have the back story.
Assumptions are not always helpful .

I was not aware of that. I hope she is well and posting again as she appears to be a very articulate poster. I have thought a lot about the OP and her detailed post and then checked a few of her other threads. She is a fighter and I wish her well in every way.

    :)
