Your Sony is audio not hifi big difference.
If used to audio anything from Sonus or Bose will be an upgrade but a downgrade from hifi users.0 -
The Bose Wave - overpriced tat.
The internals boast Bose's fabled 'waveguide' tech - from the cutaways that were included in their adverts some time back, this is basically a moulded plastic folded horn, and not even the same folded horn for each channel - they weren't symmetrical.
The electronics looked like an afterthought.0 -
I've got a 30 year old amp and speakers being feed by music stored on a NAS it's very convenient and sounds better that many modern systems.
My comment was tongue in cheek..;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Has anyone got the BOSE HOME 500 or the BOSE 500 SOUNDBAR0

Have you seen the naim cube ? Cheaper than the apple home pod , better quality and looks great . Richer sounds and John Lewis sell them . Having said that , a trip to richer sounds seems to be the way to go imho ..
Soundbars can sound 'boxy' and separates sound better tbh
There is a 'Dali ' soundbar which is supposed to be the nuts but it's about a grand .
Qvc advertise Bose on a regular basis ( must get out more:)). They look great , the sound is ok , but against other items in that price range you would hear better sound imho .0 -

I guest it was but I was just pointing out there are many ways to bring a system into modern world and the quality of equipment like Bose doesn't compare with a real hifi system.
True, Little compares to a high end hifi...Bose are not as good as they make out. They sound OK, but, for the price I'd expect something that stands out a bit more...
I had my old hifi hooked up to a nas and chromecast enabled, but, when we remodelled the house it didn't really have a place.
I've put in Google home hubs, AudioPro and Sonos, While none are purists hifi, the hubs are great for radio and streaming podcasts etc.
The Audio Pro and Sonos with a deezer premium account gives FLAC audio and I've found that with a choice of 30 million albums, it sort of beats my CD and vinyll collection somewhat...:D and sounds very very good and the NAS still contributes occassionally.
No leaving the doors open and turning the hifi up so you can hear it in another room either....Music everywhere...even the garden..
Each to their own and everyone hears and enjoys their music differently, just enjoy whatever floats your boat..Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

The Sonos sound better IMO not to mention the expandability of the system which is the real killer...
Your money, your choice, but try and get a demo of whatever you want rather than relying on someone else's view. If you go with Bose, I'm sure you won't hate it.;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
