New Hi Fi or Speakers

Options
We are looking to upgrade our home sound system. We currently have a Sony Hi Fi that we use for music and also radio. We don't have a clue what to get.

We have looked at the Apple Home Pod as we have iTunes but also been told that Bose Wave System is great. Or do we just need say Bose speaker to listen to music and radio.

Any ideas?

We were considering the Bose 500 Sound bar too. Not sure

Help appreciated

What is your budget and what do you want to listen to? Do you want a radio? Do you want a CD player? Do you want a wireless/wired connection to stream music from another device? Do you want to stream music from the internet? What shortcomings has your current kit got?

Why look for two items....Check out the Sonos Beam soundbar and use it for your TV and to play your music collection.

Same here, although I do now use my phone as the source, plugged into my 1980s Quad system.

My main speakers are Kef 104AB and are about 40 years old. Don't feel the need to update them yet. My amp is much newer though, as it does HDMI switching, 9.2 etc, but also still has a phono input for the turntable and connections for the CD player etc. and bluetooth for if I kept music on "devices".
