We usually go at half term WB but they've changed the season dates this year and it doesn't open til 1st March. We're tied to school hols and weekends anyway, so I'm a bit miffed at missing out on a few days at half term. Never mind we'll be back there soon.

Glad to hear you're still planning on going away in October. Bet the smalls love it don't they. Our site is very quiet but some of them have stuff going on from morning to night for the children which is brilliant when you have little ones.

Hope DD was OK during the night. xx

I used to love caravaning holidays as a kid, although it was a touring caravan in our instance. We never went to sites that had big kids entertainment etc- exploring was our entertainment :)

1st March will be here before you know it and you'll be able to get away!

  • I love the idea of a caravan and it must be lovely to escape every weekend. We stayed in a beautiful static in Devon for few days and it really was a stunning home from home. Hubby likes the idea of a towing one, but with his driving I wouldn't want to risk it

HG - Ours is a tourer but permanently pitched. There's a clubhouse that has something on Fridays and Saturdays but mainly for younger children - a disco, magician that sort of thing which DS is well past now. We're not big drinkers so don't tend to go up very often although we will have a walk there for a game of pool with DS. Mostly we stick by the van or go for a walk along the beach but I LOVE it. :) xx

CG - we've had a static and a tourer. Much prefer the tourer because of fees/being tied in to site rules about selling etc. But we've got the best of both worlds now because it's permanently pitched. I absolutely love going. It's so relaxing and I get much more exercise over there as well which can only be good. I'd be very sorry if we ever had to sell it. In fact I'd probably sell the house first :) xx
  • You sound like you've had some lovely holidays in your caravan :). Do you have to travel a long way to get to it or is it reasonably near?

Have you had time to read the small print on your guarantor form yet?

Its 50 mins away on a good day HHD but as we tend to travel Friday after school it can sometimes take 20 minutes longer. We're usually there for 5pm Friday so can't grumble. :)

The guarantor form is pretty straightforward but I've not seen the actual lease yet and according to DD she hasn't either. I've told her not to sign anything before we've read it. I'm wondering if the landlord is waiting for everybody to pass the guarantor checks before she sends the leases out, but I'm just guessing really. xx

    Day 11/28, 10 NSD's, Prolific £14.92 cleared, £3.35 pending, Cash £23.75 for 8th-15th Feb

Had to do a small top up shop today which came to about £7. I paid out of my money as I had cash in my purse but I've reimbursed myself from the joint account. Wouldn't have even crossed my mind to do this only a few weeks ago. My habits are well and truly changing. :D Apart from that it's been another NSD. Will be breaking my run of them tomorrow though when I go out for coffee. I need a couple of make up items and some face cream. But not expecting a big spend here, I'm very low maintenance where this sort of stuff is concerned :rotfl: xx
  • Your caravan sounds like it's in a really convenient location for you, that's ideal :).

Glad the guarantor form looks straightforward, I hope we get ours soon!

    Morning Everybody

    Day 12/28, 10 NSD's, Prolific £14.92 cleared, £3.35 pending, Cash £23.75 for 8th-15th Feb

It's going to be a spendy day for me, I need 2 tubes of facecream - good old Nivea at £1 per tube, some face powder £2.99 and a lipstick £2.99 :rotfl: I know a lot of people spend loads more on just one item but as well as being a cheapskate I have to be careful what I put on my face and all the above are tried and tested. I must be doing something right, when I turned 40 a colleague was convinced I wasn't even 30 :T: Not sure she'd think that way these days!

There is talk of spring on HHD's diary so I'm on the hunt for a bunch of daffs. Hope you all have a lovely day. xx

Hi, I just checked this and DS1 didn't actually sign his lease proper until the day he got the keys and moved in. They had an email that their application was successful, and another setting out T&Cs but the lease didn't get signed til September. I think all the nitty gritty details had been in the T&Cs - and in the offer before we did the guarantor thing.
