This should be fun... no only does no-one have any money, prices across the board are going up but they are trying to send the idiots into panic buying mode again.
Personally i always have a good stock, i'll maintain my stock incase there are problems but panic buying causes more problems than it solves.- May 2021 Grocery Challenge : £198.72 spent / £300 Budget

Re ordering of lfts online, you have to try several times through the day. I did that on Tuesday and managed to get some at around 8.10pm. Hopefully you can get some trying at similar time tonight?February wins: Theatre tickets9

Thanks everyone, it's really appreciated. I remember using Tell Us Once for my Mum last year (we've had a rubbish time of things in the last 18 months) so have told DP about that. I'll get the meters read on the weekend when we're over and we can sort that out, thanks for the tip.DP was back at work today and yesterday I had an injection in my knee so thought I'd spend the day relaxing in the garden. I set up a comfy camping chair and brought my sketchbook out along with a coffee and spent several hours enjoying the sun without taxing my knee which was lovely. I also started making more plans for the veg beds and I'd love to have a go at a container of spuds this year.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £36513

when I registered my husband’s death last year ( by phone and online ,as I’m sure you’re aware ,the ) Tell us Once Service was flagged and emailed automatically it was a godsend ,even our extremely inefficient council reacted and the singles discount was applied immediately to my council tax

Well… I never thought of using the slow cooker to reheat…
reheating things with the microwave does seem to make them go cold more quickly than the hob.
must try the jackets too.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?8 -

I've bitten the bullet and gone ahead and ordered a 25kg sack of bread flour. Having it in stock means we are more prepared for any grain shortage affecting the bread supply. Ordered from a mill. Interestingly, their website states they have a high volume of orders at the moment, so there is a delay in delivery (which is fine for us). So we're clearly not the only ones prepping right now!February wins: Theatre tickets9

FWIW we've just finished another 25kg bag of wholemeal spelt flour and for the first time we didn't bother splitting it up. Instead, we took a chance and just sat it in the kitchen and rolled the top down as we used it. Nigh on three months later the bag's now empty and the experiment was a complete success! And bear in mind that's wholemeal, which is reckoned to go stale at least twice as fast as the stuff that's had all the goodness taken out of it ...We're all doomed9 -
Yes, I went for the Mill as they were still reasonably priced, even with delivery factored in. The local place wanted close to £39! I would buy 25 1kg bags, over several supermarket shops, before I paid that!February wins: Theatre tickets5
