Makes my rootling through the tins of saved & stored seeds (some packets dated 2010, ahem) and planning herbs look very half hearted, but the lads shifted all my germination trays to an outdoor locked shed & it's been raining & blowing (& anyway the shed door jams when wet), so I shall await one of them to surface & ask them nicely to fetch me all the trays then make mud pies on the kitchen table wrap them in cling film & hope the office windowsill gets warm enough.
Not holding my breath there, but the chaps are afeart of heating mats as a fire risk...
"You got the lemon seeds to sprout" said one - then flinched at the detail of yes, cold damp kitchen towel in ziplock tucked underboob, every working day for a fortnight & cuddled in fleece blanket overnight. It worked, but it's not a runner for the number of herb plants I hope for...17 -
Nonnadiluca said:Lots of empty shelves in Lidl this week, apparently they had three days deliveries waiting to be brought out, but so short staffed, due to covid, they hadn't been able to. Then same adivice form Consultants and others. ECV stay indoors. Our GP followed with a longer call. Ordering meds was easier the surgery sent all the requests to the pharmacy Later sheiiding was lifted. Still in the middle of a pandemic but most support gone. Read something earlier ECV isn't a thing anymore. When we have our online chat later I'll ask if there has been a miracle and she is cured of all her health conditions many dating back to childhood.pollyx

In our area we had about 30 cases per 100,000 during the first lockdown; recently the number has plummeted (!) to over 800 per 100,000 but apparently it's all fine. I always have a look at the newspaper headlines in the morning, and last week one front page, ( I won't say which one) had a headline saying that Britain was the first country to get to the end of the pandemic, or words to that effect. I've given up trying to make any sense of it all and carry on wearing a mask and keeping my distance. It must be very scary if you're vulnerable.18

Everyday I am just waiting for DD to come home with Covid, as almost everyday I hear of another case in her school (Friday saw another boy in her class with it). Just keeping our fingers crossed she doesn't catch it before Friday as DH going in for an op 🤞🤞🤞🤞February wins: Theatre tickets16

We live on the coast a couple of miles away from town which has always been a tiourist destination. Lock downs or no lockdowns 20 miles of protected coastline has been overun.. Fires lit, drugs and alcohol in abundance. Lost toddlers looking for their families . Some were rescued fron inflatables drifting out to sea.Iifeboats, Lifeguuards , Police and Firemen run ragged.I have tracked in my diary when I went out and where. Sometimes a quick shop once or twice a month. Sometimes to visit dd . There were a few quiet days we could do a quick walk and other times we could sit in the garden on a sunny day. Always hands face, space which will continue . This is not over, people aren't magically no longer vulnerable.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Somethig that's just sruck me is Prince Charles and now Camills have both tested positive in the last few days. Second time for Charles. They have been supporting the Queen and also doing some charitable visits. No idea if either were masked but they do not have to go shopping, manage medication or do the normal things we have to to do to keep things on track. There are people who do those things for them.I doubt they ever had to queue at Vaccination Hubs or in GPs car parks. Consultants Drs etc do home visits if any are ill and if needed they're rushed to hospital. A different world but they now have the virus "that's over"pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Ordinary people have to prove that they know better. Bojo is not a doctor and not even a normal human being. So why should anybody at all listen to him? Don't! - Look after yourselves everybody.
