Following FluTrackers and other sites, I think it would be a good idea to munch through the Brexit preps over the next few weeks, then start re-stocking Preppers.

We really like the milk, it's eco friendly like you say, and yes, definitely saves on those 'just popping out for milk and buying 50 other things' outings lol. But I also like that I don't have to do very much to be honest. I can adjust the order up or down up to 12pm the day before delivery, so it's very flexible.
Trying to figure out how best to repair our garden chairs. The frames are solid, but the fake wicker that formed the seat and back rest are well beyond repair. Ie, the majority of them have snapped, not just one or two. Was thinking of webbing them, in a criss cross pattern, but not sure how best to apply the webbing to the chair. I know on other webbed patio chairs there are usually little holes into which you place clips ( through the webbing) which secures them in place, but there are no holes on our frame and I'm not confident drilling holes into the metal frame. Shall have to keep thinking.Have you thought of using suitably sized staples and a staple gun? You can get all sorts of staples for outdoor use including rust proof stainless steel. I've used them for different things in the gardens over the years and they do the job very well. I think Wilko used to sell them but there are probably many online.pollyx
We have opted to get a replacement fabric and bungee cord kit thing for an 'anti gravity' chair and see if we can make that work. It was £11 on Amazon, and will be delivered tomorrow, so time will tell! LolThe heavy duty stapler worked well on metal. However it was on straight rather than rounded metal and was much dearer than your idea for replacing the fabric and bungee cord kit.Thriftwizards idea is also good . As we're on a moneysaving site it's always best to go for something well priced. I did get a lot of use out of the stapler until I lent it to a neighbour and never saw it again.pollyx

How frustrating Polly! I do have a staple gun, but it's just a cheap hobbycraft one. Definitely not up to the job of stapling into metal. And like you say, not keen to incur an additional cost there as I don't think I'd get much use out of a heavy duty one.
Hopefully we can make another solution work.

KC I put on notifications for new posts so no definite forum. I think Covid still has a long way to run, it's changing all the time and countries are losing control of the variants.

I get the feeling that politicians were all looking out of the window on the day viruses were covered in science, otherwise they’d have been well aware that mutation was a significant risk they needed to take into account.

Personally I suspect that whatever happens Covid-wise, economically they have to ease up on the lockdown now; I'm aware of several small local businesses that have said, another week of this & we're bankrupt. And it's probably not much different for bigger businesses, but they have more clout with the banks, who won't want to see them fail. So cross your fingers that the vaccines, however flawed, have done enough.
Incidentally, one of my own brothers is one of those who suffered a stroke a week after the AZ vaccine, luckily not too bad & he's on the mend now. OH & I went ahead & had ours, because I still wouldn't want to pass it on to anyone else, but I'm still a little heart-in-mouth...Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10 -
I'm keeping an eye on the Varients. We had two unrelated cases of the SA varinet here in two different places a while back and into tier 4.I don't trust politicians to make decisions on such matters. The informed and experienced scientists are the ones with the knowledge. I take note of Chris Whitty with years of knowledge and involvment with the Ebola crisis. These situations how been a lifes work for him and many others. If I needed a gas safe engineer I wouldn't call in some random person to sort it.I'm not a betting person but will be amazed if "The Roadmap" doesn't take us backwards again . They're opening up some things that have led to spikes very quickly and I'll be surprised if things improve despite the number of vaccinations so far.Sensible peope aren't the problem. It's the Fake news , doesn't exist , never have or will wear a mask people who are. I'm a strong believer in human rights but the rising number of those demanding the right to do as they please are working against any hope of some progress as we go forward.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
