I'm glad inlaws told DH this info at our gate from a distance than inside our house with the children on them at a later date, I'm not sure what I would have done/said to them, at least this way we can handle it slightly more diplomatic should we see them anytime again soon.
I need to prep foods for the baby who has a milk allergy and I think now a soya allergy I never knew soya was in so many foods.

Well done Thriftygifty, I'm glad for your sake your OH is on the same page. What a good idea it was to meet them at the gate and find out in person before they came in to the house, the lack of safety every which way would have been horrible.2023: the year I get to buy a car10

Oh goodness, Thrifygifty, dairy allergy AND soy allergy? Nightmare... my great-nephew (whose mother was allergic to cow's milk, which was quite bad enough) has multiple food allergies and their lives are very constrained because of it. Half-day hospital sessions 70 miles from home every three months (regional centre) and never being able to eat away from home without it turning into a full-blown inquisition; one slip-up could be very dangerous. Luckily he's a sensible little soul & accepts the limitations, but not every 7 year old would.Angie - GC Aug25: £478.51/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10

If it's just cows milk rather than all animal milk, is it worth trying goats milk?2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Thanks everyone. We had the worst possible news today about my Dad's health, we are all in shock and trying to process the news. I think it's safe to say I admit defeat with everything at the moment.

Thriftygifty, I'm very sorry to hear you've had such bad news about your dad. Just let yourself be shocked, and be kind to yourself - it's not defeat, it really isn't, your dad's health isn't something you can control. Thinking of you and your family.2023: the year I get to buy a car7
