thriftwizard said:Thanks, everyone - he definitely does have some kind of problem in his nose, which he's had for over a year now - pre-covid, in fact. Because he's a tough guy he hasn't wanted to make a fuss until now, and of course downplays it when speaking to the (rather glamorous) nurse. I suspect that when someone does finally get around to having a look, there will be something deep-seated in there, which will hopefullly clear up with some relevant treatment. But in the meantime, he's not able to sleep properly, which means I'm not either! And the "lungs on fire" bit is worrying, as he's had pneumonia in the past, but of course he didn't really mention that to the nurse, just "hard to catch my breath sometimes," when he's actually going bluey-grey & barely able to stand.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,12013

Not of the vaccine, as I'm Clinically Extremely Vulnerable I've been carrying my phone EVERYWHERE (even to the loo), because I've been so desperate not to miss a call to have it. What I'm most scared of is catching covid while I'm being vaccinated. How did it go taurus? I'm CEF too and understand your worries. I had to wait in a short queue outside the GP surgery which I wasn't expecting
With a lung condition, I would be very unlikely to survive covid. I'm in an online support group and two of us have died recently so I have reason for my concerns. But unfortunately we can't remove every single risk - at least I can't. I have to have bloods done at the surgery every single month.
I wear an expensive 3m mask for these occasions - better than the nurse's in fact! A bit embarrassing.

It was excellent -but more by good luck than anything. My appointment time was 8.10 to 8.20 at a GP surgery 12 miles from where we live. They asked that we got there on time, but obviously, with the weather the way it is, and road works, we had to allow enough time to cope with the unforeseen so actually arrived at 8am. we were directed to park and wait in the car until they signalled they were ready to start at 8.10. By 8.05 the car park had about 25 cars parked, so I watched the Marshall like a hawk, and when I saw him raise an arm to signal, I was out of the car like a bullet out of a gun and first in the queue, so I was fine. BUT when I came out I could see that social distancing in the queue left a lot to be desired, so if I had been anything but first it would have been a different story. I felt so sorry for the marshalls as they were doing their best to get people to leave a space and there were taped markings on the floor, but so many were ignoring both.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

That sounds terrible! Very bad organisation. We had an appt at our GP surgery. We sat in the car until 5 mins before the time, went in, nobody else there at all. Got the jag and came out. One person waiting in his car who went in when we came out. Calm and peaceful and no hassle.

A friend of mine, 76, had to go for her B12 and arrived ten mins early, she had to stand outside in the freezing cold to wait, she doesn't drive. I get the need to SD but it seems so harsh. She has her Covid jab next week, fortunately another friend is able to take her by car for that one, I live too far away to help.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”16

I need to post a Birthday card and show my passport at the Drs surgery but it’s too cold to venture out today.Me too. I've never tried to get a diagnosis but to me the cold is painful and I don't warm up very easily so I tend to avoid it where possible. I put coat and scarf on to put the bin out.A couple of years back DD and co were going to Lapland and wanted to know if I'd like to go too, I said it'd probably result in my demise...

Last Saturday, I had to stand outside of the library to collect my books, -28, longest ten minutes of my life. Currently, it's -27 with the windchill making it feel more like -40.16

Goodness, @wondercollie, I can't imagine what those temperatures feel like! We have minus 4 Celsius right now, which is about plus 25 Farenheit, and that's pretty cold for us. Stay safe and warm!2025 Fashion on the ration
