It’s a very pleasant 9 or 10° here, although the sky is very dull. All I can think about is the garden.Serendipitious said:Our weather warnings have been stood down thank goodness. But it's still so cold.I've ordered some seeds which will arrive this week, tumbler tomatoes and lettuce, and I'll start those off indoors along with some sweet peas.I collected a lot of seeds last year I can’t wait to start them off. I’ve never really had time to bother with flowers before but I’m already planning my hanging baskets 😃15 -

That’s excellent! As much as I dread the thought of any additional pain, I will welcome a sore, stiff arm after my jab. It means your body has leapt into action and is producing those glorious, life-saving antibodies.daz378 said:Had my Pfizer jab at 11 am....arm started hurting from about 9pm..hope thats the only side effect....still glad to have had it
when I entered my details into one of the Covid vaccination predictor sites, the result came back that I would get my first jab by the end of Feb - I doubted it, especially at the start of the rollout, but it seems to be gaining momentum. I should get my second jab in May and, depending on the restrictions, plan to spend some time in Devon with my children over the summer. My darling daughter has just told her sibs that she is expecting her second baby in August. I’ve known for a couple of weeks - something to look forward to and plan for 😃
I massively over-ordered on catfood – wet and dry. Grumpy old cat is sitting on 2 boxes of 84 wiskas pouches and I have 3 extra cases of their high protein dry food. I don’t really need the wet food but daren’t send it back. When I queried the extra cases of dried food, Amazon refunded them and said I could keep them 🤷♀️ Going by past experience, it’s unlikely Amazon made 2 identical mistakes on 2 of my orders 😂16 -
Glad people are getting their jabs.It was 13 degrees here yesterday! So when we went for a walk yesterday lunchtime, this lead to DD declaring that it was 'so hot' and 'it's summer, let's do the paddling pool'. I explained it was too cold for that, and no, we won't be doing that. I literally had to drag her back over the threshold and into the house. Sigh.Still, food shop has arrived with no missing items and only eggs subbed for another box of eggs. So, that's cool.February wins: Theatre tickets15

Thank you 😊 Time certainly does fly – my only grandson is already a year old and he will be 18 months when his sibling arrives. At least we have a basic plan for the year -something positive to focus on. My daughter is a lovely mummy, a natural, as I knew she would be. She has a lovely hubby and 4 brothers/ funcles who are grateful that the pressure on them to ‘settle down and start a family’ has been eased 😂😂Serendipitious said:Lovely baby news - and lovely to look forward to, the time will fly by I'm sure x
my current prepping frame of mind is it’s all about mental health. I’ve got the nutrition covered for now and I don’t need to leave the house apart from hospital appointments and occasional supplies. I have warmth, entertainment and company - it’s just purpose I’m lacking 🙁

3secondmemory, you are not alone... Ds2 & his lovely wife are expecting to make grandparents of us towards the end of July. First one for us and I for one am definitely somewhat over-excited, as are the DDs and their other brothers too! Much crafting has broken out & the house is littered with soft yarns and Liberty fabric already...Angie - GC Jan 26 £211.26/£400: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 40/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)16
