We're not fussed about holidays but we are looking forward to being able to drive out on nice days and go for walks we don't do here and take picnics and hopefully meet the family and be able to play with the pickles, that much back in life would be very welcome. Perhaps we'll see how things stand in the late summer/early autumn when the plot starts to slow down and maybe try for a weekend at the seaside or book something involving steam trains and go for a weekend where we can do that but we'll wait and not book ahead just in case. We may have to wait to get bookings anywhere if they are allowing travel and mixing but that's OK we're lucky to have the flexibility retirement offers.10

Thank you. I will have a look at the cbbc newsround stuff for DD.And yes, boazu, some simple days out would be very welcome right now. I've started to make a list of all the things we've had to say no to recently, so that we can tick them off once safe to do so. Top of the list is DD seeing her grandparents, though it feels a lifetime away at the moment. I know it's not. Just feels like it.February wins: Theatre tickets15

I think it’s the little things we miss. We like going to a garden centre/ restaurant/gift shop that does the most fabulous cakes and taking turns going to each other’s houses to watch Strictly or the Voice. Not big things but nice.
We’ve got a Florida holiday booked that should have happened last September, moved to this September but I still can’t see that happening either. I think we’ll just appreciate more when they eventually happen.
Keep well everyone

I've missed the library most, I didn't really get why they had to shut altogether, in my old place there were never more than about 5 or 6 people in there in normal times, so in theory even with masks and SD they ought potentially to be safer than the supermarket. You could do click and collect after August but you had to take pot luck within a specified genre, the staff selected the books and only 2 branches had the service so you had to travel. So I used to get my browsing fix from the charity shelves in some local supermarkets, that was handy, and it was an urban area so plenty of people donated their unwanted books. I always redonated mine (quarantined beforehand.)In the new place I haven't been far, and my local Co-op just does DVDs. I bought 18 books for £30 from The Works as a winter treat, and am just on the last one now, but at least I can do a library click and collect here so that's my next job.But a good wander around the shelves sounds like heaven at the minute!“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”17

I have to have the screen quite close up - I dropped my phone on my nose once and that was so painful, I was grateful it wasn't an ipad!I just ordered any 10 random crime/psychological thriller/historical fiction so it'll be pot luck what I get. They'll ring when they're ready to collect.
