That's quite something, GQ, and a bargain to boot :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:D I was, as they say in all the classier households, gobsmacked.

The 'rents can take some of them, they need me to decide how many of the packs I want brought up to the city when the car comes up on 24th. I was so phased, I couldn't even calculate the volume of these packs vs the amount of storage I (don't) have.

I dunno, you research a deal, give precise instuctions over the phone and had notes taken, and this happens! At least it made you all chuckle.:rotfl:

Oh GreyQueen, Do they have room to keep half for you? I know your place is small. If they keep them in packs of 27 can they go in the loft of doom?

Yup, it's do-able if you have an old style privy but the price of newspapers these days is prohibitive. Mebbe time to go the bidet route, for those with bathroom space enough and money/ inclination?

Or you can go the African way, and use a large plastic bottle (for instance a 2-litre C0ke bottle), or a watering can.

FYI - the 'secret civil servant' column in the Guardian is reporting that there'll be government TV adverts about Brexit, possibly this Friday. Obviously I don't know if this is true, but either way it might be worth placing online orders and visiting the shops before then in case there's a sudden run on Aldi!

I've noticed there are government ads in my local paper for businesses regarding sharing information post brexit.

Have been gradually buying store cupboard extras, day by day. Pasta, rice, tinned veg, tinned fruit, long life milk etc. Not going to have much space left to store it soon! lol

:D I had separately come to the idea that this is the way forward. I shall sell it to them as extra loft insulation, lol. But hey, what a deal!

  • Sell them not GQ in the aftermath of Brexit or no Brexit or half a Brexit or a 3 day week of Brexit etc. they may be the very best of 'Barter' commodities, depending on how desperate people get about alternatives. Perhaps we shan't be judged rich by the 'gold standard' any longer it might become the 'loo roll standard' instead.....another aspect of interesting times???
