I had to take my son in for an x ray on his back. A&E was very quiet, felt very safe and whole visit was the fastest ever! Sounds like you may have cracked your collar bone from the way you describe moving your arm. Best get it checked as if it moves out of line it may need an operation which is the last thing you want.daz378 said:Must admit being a bit worried to going into hospital environment risking covid for a precautionary x ray

I def think you need to get it checked. A broken bone that doesn't set right can cause long term, very painful, problems. So whilst I understand your concern, you really don't want to risk the alternative either. Take your mask, hand sanitiser and be hyper vigilant. All of the nurses and doctors will be wearing masks etc as well.daz378 said:Must admit being a bit worried to going into hospital environment risking covid for a precautionary x rayFebruary wins: Theatre tickets12 -
I went in for a chest X-ray a couple of weeks ago - the risk was lower than walking down the street. Separate entrance, touch less check-in, screens, sanitiser and spare masks everywhere and meeting rooms turned into extra waiting rooms. Plus no booking half a dozen people for the same slot. We all had our individual times which meant only 2 in the 6-person waiting room at any one time.daz378 said:Must admit being a bit worried to going into hospital environment risking covid for a precautionary x ray15 -

Our first snowfall is just starting to flutter down. Husband is muttering about getting the snow tyres on.
We've heard it's going to be a mild winter. It had better be, with COVID, it's the first time we can't travel in the middle of winter to get away from the cold. Travel insurance won't cover anyone who come down with COVID overseas and our government is enforcing a two week quarantine on return. So to get three weeks away from -40, I have to use five weeks vacation. We've decided to hire a snow removal company for those three weeks and I'm not cooking!

If you have manual can-openers as a back-up make it a butterfly opener, Then you can put a (large) screwdriver through one of the holes and lever it without having to grip. Can;t explain very well but if you try it it'll become clear.19 -
That is a very good idea, thank you.15

Well the worst has happened re my mother and father in law, they are both positive for Covid. FIL is very bad, can hardly stand and hasn't eaten anything for days. MIL was up, looking after FIL who has been in beds for days, today but is only just going down with the virus. As I said before both are vulnerable, MIL has v bad lungs . We haven't told the kids as both have GCSE assessments most of next week and elder son has his tractor driving test. They will be besides themselves with worry but unable to do anything about it. As we are in Wales we know that a new lockdown is coming, although it hasn't formally been announced yet. One sons head of year seem to think it will be announced Tuesday and come into force from next Friday, after the assessments.
