MIL was up, looking after FIL who has been in beds for days, today but is only just going down with the virus. As I said before both are vulnerable, MIL has v bad lungs
How's the lockdown going to affect you?

Sending upholding thoughts & good wishes to all of you currently in, or about to be in, lockdown again.
And on that merry note, I must go & confess on the Grocery Challenge thread that I will be going over budget (again) this month as I've just bought lots of frozen veg. etc. to pop into the new freezer, and will almost certainly do another run at some point in the near future, with my trusty shopping trolley, because I think it's only a matter of time before we all get "circuit-broken" & I don't want to have to face panicky crowds. Not that we'd be in much danger of running out, as the old freezer is still (just about) functioning & fairly full, plus there's lots of allotment & garden produce going in as I process it now, plus kale, chard, leeks, carrots & cabbages still standing, but none of it will go to waste in the long term. Unless, of course, we get lengthy power cuts too...

How's the lockdown going to affect you?MIL is a retired nurse so he should be in good hands, although it makes it worse that she had the grandkids knowing full well the risks!
Lockdown tbh on the farm doesn't really affect us much. The boys will be off school so the house will resemble a fraternity house within a couple of days!! Farm work carries on pretty much the same as normal although we can only take animals to market, drop them off and leave. No watching them sold, having a cuppa or catching up with friends. It is a quiet time on the farm so we usually try to escape for a weeks holiday about now..................or not this time!!
We have a lane that leads to the canal passing through the farm so we will probably see way more people than usual. During lockdown part 1 and all through the summer its been like the M4 for walkers, cyclists, joggers, dog walkers etc etc
I shop in a town that is in another county which is on lockdown. I am not technically supposed to enter Torfaen but I have to check the sheep at ground we have there so I might as well pick up groceries, medications and animal feed all in one go rather than got to Abergavenny which is in the same county as the home farm. Torfaen is literally only 14 miles long and about 6 miles wide so a very small local authority!
OH runs a groundworks company which seems to have kept going throughout the whole pandemic. Even tonight someone rang to ask him to do a job and he's booked up all this week and some of the following ones. I am a landlord but wont be visiting any of my tenants unless there is an emergency.
I am well stocked up on just about everything so we could probably go into total stay at home and not go out lockdown if we had to. Saying that our back yard is about 100 acres so plenty of space to get out of each others way!
