elaine241 said:I have seen a video from Doctor Vernon Coleman on a video host site Brand New Tube, it was a link sent via a blog I read. Not sure what to think of his opinion but it does give an alternative , medically qualified, view of what is happening.
I've got quite a bit of his stuff on kindle as he's a good read. Re the medical/conspiracy stuff, I find his 'old man in a chair' videos quite entertaining. The thing is there is usually a grain of truth in what he says but imo his overall interpretation is skewed. For example he was claiming at one stage that older people weren't getting treated for covid and were being deliberately killed off. Well you can have a debate as to why infected patients were discharged into care homes but it is stretching it a bit to suggest deliberate mass murder. Plus elderly folk have been treated in hospital and come through it.

There’s a book published a few years ago called How Not to a Die. It’s nothing to do with Vernon Coleman but is an interesting read. It lists the causes of harm and premature death, and the medical profession are way up there in the risk factors.
I guess the thing about these type of books is that one can read them and take them with a pinch of salt. Most people will die of some form of heart disease, stroke or cancer.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Sorry to hear about those with additional worries of loved ones. That understandably makes things tougher, and it's not surprising that would make you more upset. Have a socially distanced hug ((hug)).
Defrosted both freezers yesterday. The little one, attached to the fridge was pretty quick and easy, the main one took a few hours and soaked through six towels! Had been a while! Still, it's a good job done ahead of winter, and provides more space in the freezer.
Also made a batch of spag bol, and got delias mincemeat in the slow cooker as I type. Lush! So regardless of everything else, we will at least have tasty mince pies at Xmas!
And 3 days was all it took for DD to catch a cold at school. Just the sniffles, literally. No temp, no cough, no sore throat, no loss of smell or taste etc, and she's still bounding around like a loon. Lol still, we skipped swimming this morning, and not sure if school will accept her in tomorrow. Their policy says they will, but her class teacher reportedly told other parents they wouldn't have them in for *any* kind of cold. We shall see.February wins: Theatre tickets13 -
Jamanda - we do need to vent on here occasionally, you're in a tough spot with your mum, and so are a few others with their parents. Sympathies to all.As for covid, I won't use public transport, I'm still not going into shops, and I don't have any friends in my town yet, so I'm pretty distanced - the only person I have regular contact with is my sister. Her adult daughter sits in her car once a week, and is also pretty isolated, so I'm okay nowadays with driving about with my sister (West Wittering Beach tomorrow, if her (dental) health holds up). I feel very lucky to be able to take those levels of precautions; I see lots and lots of people doing a lot less than me in the avoidance stakes, but that's up to them.2023: the year I get to buy a car14

Jamanda I have had my own little stress outs on here, think of it as prepper therapy! As for the potatoes I prescribe chips!! Along with wine and chocolate! All of the main food groups so a balanced diet especially for those undergoing stress and worry! If its really bad I add cheese and mayonnaise to the chips!

DID YOU GET THE SWEETIES?I refuse to answer that question on the advice of my counsel, nargle. And, anyway, it's more likely to be chocolate. Because, if it lasted, it'd be more versatile... ;DA budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
