I think maybe a spreadsheet would make life more complicated.. it's a very individual thing prepping and you need to work out what you eat and how much of it etc etc. The old-fashioned way before spreadsheets were invented (in the Dark Ages lol) was to start with multi purpose foods that can be used in many ways.. like pkts of soup mix, porridge oats, broth mix, flour, etc. Then sit down with a bit of paper & a pencil and write down what you've been eating in the last 2 weeks and add that in. And so on.~Not being sarky in any way here, just adding my wee bit in for anybody else like me who doesn't know what a spreadsheet is21

but the main ingredient is chicken not cereal. I’ve got it on subscribe and save for the next few months while I build up supplies. As well as taking up less space, there is also less rubbish as it comes in small sacks rather than individual sachets and tins. A small sack last 10 days or there abouts - I haven’t got round to daily recommended amounts – it seems stingy to ration the cats14 -

I’m fine, thank you for asking. I spend a lot of time resting and doing physio therapy, so nothing much of interest to report. Take care, everyone. GQ xx

Fun & games again in the TW household this morning. The wedding is just a week away now & the arrangements all re-made at vast expense for the 3rd time, and hopefully won't have to be re-jigged again - or cancelled altogether - in the meantime. But our accommodation has had to be reorganised at short notice... the latest edict prohibits gatherings of more than 6, and we'd have been 7, staying in the bridegroom's family home, technically from only 2 households, but that's still illegal as from Monday. Luckily a friend has been setting herself up to do AirBnB, but isn't open for business yet, so OH & I will remove ourselves from the sibling fun & frolics & be her first guests!
It's only a little annoyance in the grand scheme of things, but poor kids! They've had their plans so thoroughly upset, several times, and lost a fair bit of money; luckily they're quite savvy, and weren't pushing the boat out too far in the first place, and the whole wedding thing has been blown up out of all proportion anyway. But still, I'm sad for them, that the last few weeks have been so stressful.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)16 -
Thriftygifty, if you use peanut butter regularly, you might find it more economical to buy it in 1kg tubs, and it would take up less space than several jars. I don't think you can get the absolute cheapest peanut butter in 1 kg tubs, but you would be getting a better quality product, and the tubs can be used for storage afterwards. One life - your life - live it!14

It may seem stingy but RDAs are there for the animal's health & wellbeing. My cat is a fluffy-ish picky eater on hairball food who will pick out & eat the IAMS kibble mixed with Wilko kibble if I buy it for her, but will happily eat Wilko if that's all there is. She has a pot full daily to graze on which equates to the relevant RDA for her weight.
I don’t really give them the cereal biscuits - I don’t think of them as food. They get raw chicken once a week when I’m organised – and that’s instead of Cat treats.
they are very unsettled at the moment and barely come into the house. One is a prolific hunter and the other is starting to show signs of age now. She used to overeat and throw up a lot but that hasn’t happened with the new food.I do need to start paying more attention though14
