It doesn't stop you from stockpiling paracetamol. I have a Lidl, Home Bargains, B&M and a Morrisons in close proximity to each other so you could go and buy 2 packs of paracetamol from each of them. If you are intent on attempting to take your own life you would just get as many as you felt you needed anyway. Most people appear to want to od on prescribed meds anyway.17

With there only being 16 in a pack, 2adults in a house suffering with a cold will get through a pack pretty quickly. DH doesn't react well to paracetemol, so tend to keep ibuprofen for him and decongestant on its own. I also rely on both for my monthly, which is very painful. I do all the usual tricks, but without painkillers I literally couldn't move on those days. A lot changed after pregnancy.February wins: Theatre tickets14

I remember reading about a study for OOD drugs, I'll see if I can find it.

obviously I am not suggesting you take meds well out of date, but it makes interesting reading.today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Thriftgifty - To get my meds on repeat prescription I have to log in to Patient Access and request what I need, there is a date on there before which I cannot call them in and the issuing quantity is set. If I need more when I go on extended holiday I have to contact the GP practice for the extra supply. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)16

On the 4th of never? lol As that issue will eventually disappear, I will no doubt usher in a new set of issues that will no doubt come with the new era of womanhood that awaits me! haha Oh well. At least there's gin. And chocolate

Hi! I have been reading along on and off for a while.
I was very pleased with the stock I keep of food and essentials when Covid hit as it meant we did not run out of anything we would rather not do without. We are in a rural area in Scotland and my initial store was based on the possibility we get cut off from easy access to shops in the winter. That slowly grew with Brexit looming and we now have approximately 3 months worth of food in the house ( hooray for large pantries)
I am cautiously looking forward to schools going back here next week as all 4 children miss it.
My main issue at the moment is not getting carried away and storing up more and more.20 -
We have shelved part of our basement to act as an overflow pantry. We are stocking up on plastic storage boxes to store things in airtight containers as it is ever so slightly damp down there and things in paper or cardboard packaging will spoil over time.
There is something calming about seeing our stores build back up in readiness for whatever winter/covid/brexsh!t may throw at us. Even now, food availability at our nearest supermarket can be very hit and miss. I won't miss "shopping roulette" in the shelf stable product aisles once the pantry is fully stocked! I've grown to actively dislike supermarket shopping since the corona virus crisis, so anything that will help avoid having to traipse from shop to shop in search of the missing items on the shopping list is fine by me.
I think that the uncertainty caused by the virus and the constant background noise/worry it brings means we are in for a potentially gloomy winter. Embracing hygge will be even more important than ever this year. I'm fully stocked on candles and matches for cosy nights in. We need a new duvet, and inspired by my childhood I'm also going to get some flannelette fitted sheets to make our bed even cosier. Going to stock up on some cross stitch bits to keep me out of mischief too. Hoping I can find some ultra fine fairy lights to bring a little brightness when the nights start drawing in; there's nothing like gently twinkling lights to make the gloom a little less depressing.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...22 -
Don't try your flannelette sheets while wearing fleece pjs. I did this and got velcroed to the bed and couldn't move. I was nice and warm though.21
