Don't eat curry, don't eat cheese, don't eat sweet potatoes, don't eat kidney beans - in fact I'm not sure what they are but please don't tell me cos I don't like the sound of them.

I could do roast root veg I think, and I do add veg to stews. Are green beans the same as french beans?
And I could do something with fried onions in pasta...
TY girls!

Frittata? Chop onion[s], fry till slightly crunchy, add in spinach [ frozen or fresh], cook with onions till no liquid left, depending on size of pan, six to ten eggs, grated parmesan or similar, beat eggs, add parmesan, pour over onions and spinach, stir in , cook and scrape a little bit, then low heat, and to cook the other side , slide onto a plate, put frying pan on top of eggs on plate, flip and cook, or put a saucepan lid on top of frying pan to keep heat in to cook the top. NIce hot or cold. Nice with courgette, with fried peppers, with french beans....Not brocolli, goes too mushy.Salsa, two or three onions, and peppers and two tins of toms, courgette and aubergine optional. Cook onions, still slightly crunchy, and peppers the same, courgette the same, aubergine for a bit longer, add two tins of tomatoes, cook for a bit until amalgamated, when cooked, two or three tablespoons of vinegar [ red wine or cider]. Don't add salt.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

I'm not a fan of carrots, but I occasionally have some grated with grated apple (lots more apple than carrot!) sometimes adding a few sultanas or raisins, and possibly a spoonful of yoghurt. Usually with a salad.
Carrot cake?
Carrot and beetroot are both used in cakes and puddings. I've seen a recipe for beetroot and chocolate cake but haven't tried it. You don't taste the carrot in carrot cake.8 -
OOOOOOh I can do carrot cake!!!

You can add carrots and peas to cottage pie, and it's very tasty. Also, you could mix sweet potato with normal potato to make the topping. Not too sweet that way, if that is what you don't like about it.
Do you like veggie soup? I found a good recipe. It has a little curry powder in it, but not loads. Just enough to add a little something to the flavour.
Have you tried korma? No judgement. I didn't eat it for a long time, as I couldn't get past the look of it, but once I tried it I realised it was delicious!
Also, you can add dried, chopped peaches or apricots to a pizza sauce recipe and blend. Lifts the flavour without being too sweet, and adds a bit of extra goodness.
2and early potatoes git the dreaded blight. Had to harvest. DD absolutely LOVED it! Called it our 'potato reveal' haha I might have watched a few too many potato harvest videos on youtube with her! Lol. But....very pleased with our harvest! 3.6lbs. Here is a pic!February wins: Theatre tickets13 -
In addition to beetroot, I’ve also heard that you can make brownies/chocolate cake with courgette or sweet potato though don’t have any recipes that I’ve tried and tested. I find the flavour of veg can change greatly depending on cooking method too - carrots seem to be much sweeter when steamed rather than boiled, for example. There are also lots of recipes out there for hidden veg tomato sauces which you can use for pasta etc. We always add chopped mushrooms, peppers, carrot and onion to bolognese or chilli but they could definitely be blended into the sauce.Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...10

My DD made a courgette lemon drizzle cake yesterday for my first visit to her house since I helped her move in on March 5th. She was very ill on the day with what she thought was flu (but now suspects covid19) but we got her bed put up and the kitchen stuff out of the boxes before I left her to try to sleep it off, and then of course the lockdown began. As a nurse in the NHS she was worried about bringing the infection to me or her dad (we are divorced so don't live together and he is more vulnerable than me) so I didn't see her at all until about 3 weeks ago when she drove over and we had a socially distanced walk around a park near me. Since then my car battery needed charging so I couldn't go to hers but this weekend I got to see her and what she had done to the house (well, downstairs) and garden. Still no hugs and she had "quarantined" the downstairs loo for my use but it was so lovely to see her, and the cake was delicious! Isn't beetroot and chocolate cake called a red velvet cake?11

Repeated elsewhere - I need help! (This may not come as a surprise) A really fun work colleague is about to become a Vicar's Wife when his missus is ordained [prayers etc that can go ahead Distanced] - can you amazing souls nominate a good Jam cookbook as a gag gift? (Or other 'suitable' gifts for the role?)
