I was just looking for clear storage boxes for kitchen stuff. Most of the ones I looked at had "email me when in stock" .
I think I'm accidentally saving, because I can't find anything available that I want.12 -
Well, I ventured to a shop today for the first time in weeks. My eyes have been suffering with all the pollen, and it has gradually gotten worse, until yesterday I wanted to scratch them out and woke up with allergic conjunctivitis. The optrex 'itchy eyes' drops I had, were doing nothing. And I ordered some proper stuff from boots, but realised this morning that I couldn't wait. So headed to boots first thing. It's an out of town store. Had my mask. I was literally the only customer in the store! The staff all had visors on, and there were plastic guards up at the tills too. So felt very reassured, and was in and out very quickly.February wins: Theatre tickets13

Ours is definitely on its way out and it would be disastrous if it broke and we couldnt replace it given we just bought 25kg of white bread flour! 7 to 10 days delivery so won't be celebrating just yet though
Cupboards now feel quite well stocked and I'm building up medicines and toiletries.
We've been very lucky with deliveries and haven't been to a supermarket since this started, have used the local Co-op a couple of times but they are well geared up with one way system and shields for the staff. I am concerned about having to go back to using supermarkets and I think it will be a while before I do so but I recognise that I am very lucky to have that choice. There has definitely been an increase in the number of supermarket deliveries available recently.
Other half's work is predominantly home based and my employer has said they are in no rush to get us back to the office and will take a phased approach; as our job can be done at home I think we will probably be the last phase so don't anticipate being back in the office before July. I expect we will therefore continue to self-isolate to quite a degree until much later in the year.
I do miss wandering around the charity shops at lunchtime but I'm genuinely quite nervous about returning to "normal" life, I can foresee a lot of mental health issues, particularly around agoraphobia as people have been working to the rule that going out and other people are "bad". I know from my work that there is already a huge pressure on the voluntary sector in terms of mental health.
Again, saying all this, I appreciate I am lucky to have the option to work from home and not have to go to the supermarket for food.14 -
SiClist creeps up on forum, looks round cautiously and ...Ahah! Looks like something's changed of late, so time to start checking in again. Are GreyQueen and Jojothetightfisted still around? We're all doomed16

At the risk of sounding like a lockdown cliche (typing on a tablet so can’t do accents) I make sourdough. In my defence I’ve been making it for a couple of years. You don’t have to knead the dough at all you get your hands underneath it and lift it as high as you can without it tearing, then fold it back on itself, give the bowl a quarter turn and repeat. Do that about 4 times and you will see the dough become much less stretchy, it’s really interesting how quickly it changes. Repeat that process three times at half hour intervals then your dough is ready for shaping. It means that even if you have arthritis in your hands or problems in your shoulders you can still make bread.
Though I love the convenience of my Panasonic bread maker as wellIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!13
