Don't talk to me about radishes, I am virtually living on them and the chard, the only allotment produce which is ready atm. Should have goosegogs and currants before too much longer.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I LOVE radishes ❤️ 💕 💗. Hopefully the first sowing of mine will be ready soon. The rocket is looking promising too. I need to do dome more sowing this weekend - I’d forgotten about the chard!11

I started growing mange touts from seed. I now have lots of vigorous seedlings, and am trying to think where to plant them out. I tell you, they had better produce plenty of the edible bits, all the work I have put into them! One life - your life - live it!11

Could I ask radish lovers to recommend a nice mild variety. The ones I grew a few years ago were so hot 🔥🔥🔥 I couldn't eat them. Haven't tried again, but chard is doing well. Runner beans now reached my height. Hoping to be buried by the strawberry crop, though the birds have had most of the currants - they have to eat something! It's cooler in this garden than almost everywhere else in the country, but the growing season does last till quite late in the year.10

Nothing at all ready to harvest here yet. I bought some strawberry plants earlier in the year but they never flowered, too young maybe. We have a lot of squash, courgettes and pumpkins to plant out though so hopefully will be kept in gourds for quite a while 😊Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...11

Strawberries aren't ready until July - they might still flower. Mine are just starting now.

CCW007 said:I guess I would have to learn if the machine broke and I couldn't replace it but I do love the convenience of the bread maker.Ahem ... there's "no knead" to learn anything to make no-knead (AKA bung-it) bread. If I can make it, anybody can - and the only washing-up is a measuring jug, a wooden spoon and a mixing bowl.Whatever, we too miss noseying round the charity shops. In fact, apart from that and the library being shut, such lockdown as there still is can carry on ad finitum as far as we're concerned. BTW, has anybody heard anything about when libraries are supposed to open again?
