Still hanker after TWOCing an abandoned pony. Just the running costs are a bit higher than a pushbike, but you can carry loads more if you have a packsaddle & can tie a latigo hitch. It's finding one small enough for me to be able to groom unassisted. The Shetland temperament is very variable, from ideal child ride right through to psychopath-with-hooves. Plus l'd get Looks, riding a pony with rollerskates gaffered to my wellies & the pony looking distinctly Burdened.
A small cart, now - much more my kind of style...14 -
Someone was kind enough to share a flour website recently: Buywholefoodsonline I believe. I bought a few packs but find it doesn't rise very well, even with extra yeast, compared to Waitrose flour. I wonder if it doesn't like being packed in plastic bags?

Possibly jk0 as I regularly buy bulk orders from that company and never had any problems with the quality of anything. I have never bought bread flour from them though.10

I bought 10 kg of chapatti flour from Tesco today for £3.50!! I will share it about a bit and try to extend my breadmaking skills to flat breads. I saw it and got a bit over excited!!Slightly bitter11

When I went to L1dl l on Thursday they had bread flour but were back to being out of stock of plain flour and eggs, to my pancake-loving OH’s disappointment. I’ve ordered some flour containers and a shelf insert with storage baskets from Lakel@nd in an attempt to sort out my baking cupboard which is a desperate mess, with cookie cutters etc falling out every time I open it - prepping in a way because if it’s better organised I’m more likely to notice if something’s approaching its date or if critters move in.Also - I wasn’t on the forum for a week or so, has Mrs LW been banned?Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...9

I don't know. It just says 'User Deleted' for her previous posts now, and her account is unavailable if you try to look.

I think she went. There was some disagreement, some posts were deleted, it's impossible to remember or see what actually happened now...And she was also having difficulty logging in and out of the site due to the sites problems when they updated with that banner for the OU course.

It’s a shame to see her go, she contributed a lot to the forum even if I didn’t always agree with her.Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...9

It just spoils things when people start bickering, there's no point in it.I'm very undecided on what to do next re preps and could do with some advice MSE-ers. We need to do up the back bedroom. It's biggish with a high ceiling and north facing. Do I redo it, make it into a store-room/pantry? Or do I keep it as a boring empty spare room and instead invest in things that we might need soon, like a washing machine and a mattress. Things that cost a fair bit and will probly go up in price soon. Any ideas?15

You are thinking the same as me, desperately trying to think what we are going to need for the same reasons. The trouble might be expiry of guarantees before you have used the equipment.10
