We’ve just unexpectedly received some sewn masks in the post from OH’s mum, so I’ll wear one of those rather than a scarf to the shops I suppose. At the beginning of lockdown I’d been wearing a tube type cycling scarf but found it too hot so stopped 😬, hopefully these are a bit cooler.Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...11

Anyone spotted on the net...the sun is going into lockdown ...could be going through a period of subdued solar activity which could lead to a global reduction in temperature.....source was the Sun newspaper online....is this a thing or sensationalism? Will we be iceskating on the Thames again...if it is even more reason to prepp....7

Will we be iceskating on the Thames again...if it is even more reason to prepp....The sun has a 22 year solar activity cycle, with maximum and minimum occurring 11 years apart. We are currently in solar minimum, with a minimum of sunspots occurring. This is a normal 'thing', but the amount of subdued activity does vary per solar cycle, i.e. it's not identical every time. A very preppers question but something I had in abundance in Hampshire but not so here as I don't know the local area terribly well yet.....If you had for some reason to leave home because it was no longer safe to stay do you have a 'go to' place where you could be safe? a place where you could safely stay until whatever situation it was had either gone or you knew you couldn't go back at all and needed to find a new place to live. If you do what (not where) is your idea of a safe place to relocate to? and how easy would it be for you to get there?10

Both of our sons live within walking distance. We have the largest landspace of the three.
Having said that, I'd head to number two son's house. He has an armoury. He also preps with foodstuffs. He's ready for the zombie end times. He's not quite Darryl of the Walking Dead but he has been thinking of acquiring a crossbow
