Lambing here too pineapple and the quad bikes are on the go day and night. Hope to god your farm hasn't got the virus, it's a manic time for them without that added to the worry.

Just to confirm Amazon still delivering - I received something yesterday which was ordered on Monday.13

Hopefully you'll be OK @pineapple - it shouldn't be an issue outside in the fresh air as droplets will be dispersed. And if it's as windy with you as it is here they won't be in with a chance!
@GaleSF63 - I've been having constant amazon deliveries as I can't get out. They're just taking a bit longer than usual as food/medicine deliveries are being prioritised

Not long back from a quite remarkable 50-minute walk in the sunshine (and perishing wind). Remarkable because of the distinct absence of people, the very few cars, and above all the complete absence of any aircraft noise at all. In fact take away the lawnmowers, strimmers and the odd chainsaw in the distance, and it would have been just like Sunday mornings were in 1960 give or take a year or soWe're all doomed11

We've been trying to put in place local businesses to use rather than the supermarkets, we have a local del with Milk, Bread, Fresh veg and eggs coming tomorrow only a little box. I hope they continue throughout this and that everything doesn't just get centralised at the supermarkets as I am trying to avoid at all costs, once we are hopefully out the otherside of this I will be looking at a more permanent swap if we can afford it depending on where this is heading. We have 2 CC Tesco orders booked for the next couple of weeks then that is it as doubt I would be able to get any slots after but we have enough to hunker down for a while, I will be looking to top up store cupboard bits if possible, vanilla extract etc.
We have been watching webcams today from zoos which my children have liked, and joined a couple more FB groups "Crap you find in charity shops" honestly so funny some of the stuff, I guess not to everyone's taste but anything that raises a smile and distracts from this current situation for a few moments.

Got my polytunnel up at last! Then decided to "reduce" it to a half, as it did rather swamp the garden, which isn't terribly big. I couldn't put it where it was when the bird 'flu panic was on, as that patch is in the shade. But now I'm happy that it's structurally ok, doesn't look too awful, and will do the job I need it to do; i.e. raise seedlings, then tomatoes, peppers & salad leaves etc. until late autumn. I've also been cracking on at the allotment, on the grounds that that may not always be an option; filling it up with spuds & other things that will just get on with growing without needing lots of attention seems the best thing to do just now.Angie - GC Aug25: £374.16/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10

Bear in mind most people won't recognise food crops in a garden if they're mixed in with other plants. So climbing beans in with sweet peas etc...14

My allotment once got raided, and all they took was the leeks! There were peas, cabbages, potatoes, lots of berries, etc, but I think they just did not recognise them on the plant.We filed the theft with the police, which was fun, and we even made a small article in the local newspaperAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5910

I've had an email from Tesco limiting orders to 80 items per order from today and if you amend an existing order, if you have a large order placed I wouldn't touch it. DH was tired so back to different wave lengths hence not amending our order lastnight argh and now limited on items, which would normally be fine but ive put my parents on there which is 60 items and hadn't put ours on there yet only on paper. Going to review my list my 3 onions are being cut! In the grand scheme of things its fine but the difference a few hours makes. DH said the long ques outside supermarkets with the markers are starting to happen when he drove past them on the way to his "essential" work.12
