I couldn't even log in. Very frustrating.
Obviously spending some time each day doing my son's home schooling but also training the dogs so they walk better. When I was on my own, I couldn't do it because of there being two of them. With my son, its working. And he's getting healthy exercise and more confident (he's autistic). Because of the lockdown we hardly even see a soul let alone come within 2 metres of them so still safe.12 -
HelloElaine 241 you must be near me. We are 7 miles from the epicenter of this and we were in the Gwent hospital oncology dept mid March. I'm so glad we didn't catch this then as we wouldn't probably survive, DH especially. We have been in the garden all this week so far cutting down trees, they were supposed to be branches, but we miscalculated their thickness. We now have hidden the wood behind several bushes as the tip is closed but we had already decided that we weren't going there anyway. We were also able to sort out our meds this morning with our pharmacy, although they and the surgery are swamped, so they are 3 days behind. There are no deliveries available but we hope that DD can collect ( she is self isolated at present ) if not it will be me. Not ideal, but needs must as DH must get his cancer meds. Thanks Euronorris for the tip on Asda slots I don't need one at present, but it is good to know that they are still available as it's still a definite no from Tes*o.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

So what else is everyone doing for distraction - in between attending to essential matters of course. I’m finding podcasts quite soothing, combined with exercise or the daily surface cleansing ritual. Any recommendations?I’m also mighty relieved my carer is now working from home. We agreed it’d be best to restrict visits to twice a week, essential assistance only and keeping distance as much as possible. If this is your situation it’s worth texting carers a pic of your PIP letter or similar, in case of police checks. There seems to be quite a lot of them out and about at the moment, which is unsettling and reassuring in equal measure!
I'm making up a couple of 'ID' cards. Nothing fancy, just a mobile number large enough to read from a distance - useful for anyone trying to deliver something, or no contact transactions. Should also hopefully protect against a stressed out plod insisting you wind your window down
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?11 -
Today I am so greatful for where we live we've not been out for days and don't miss the real world. However today I had a MW appointment and a cheque that needed paying in at the post office in the local newsagents my theory was better to do now than in a few weeks time, I rang ahead to see what measures were in place "just keep distance however we are very quiet" I popped there before MW appointment as soon as I got there the whole world and his dog seemed to come out of the woodwork!! There must have been about 20 or so of us, I was in to deep! Everyone maintained their distance all apart from one elderly lady with a stick 5 people back I felt for the woman in front who had no space to distant herself, I wore gloves. Then went to MW appointment which im so annoyed at myself for going to, I knew I shouldn't have gone, Were told to wash our hands on the way in through the door (how many people have touched the taps) there was a constant flow of heavily pregnant women again I had new gloves and hadn't touched anything so didn't wash my hands, saw MW who I felt just mocked me by saying we all have high risk people and this will probably blow over in a couple of weeks, and they are washing their hands alot, however she spent the whole time chatting unnecessarily and at close proximity, I kept backing away as much as possible but clearly the distance and spores thing hadnt sunk in, came home and got in the shower and scrubbed myself raw and vowed not to go out again until baby decides to appear.13

I have just spent the hour waiting in Morrisons online queue then spent an inordinate amount of time trying to log on , kept saying details didn't match but they did. I'm in the over 70 with autoimune. I could die of starvation trying to get food from there! I won't die of starvation bcause my daughter has been shopping for me but she's a Nurse Practitioner and I was trying to take some pressure off her by getting my own. Determinedly keeping spirits up it's going to be a long haul in isolation the temptation to just walk out the door will get harder but I won't ofcourse and just had to have a little moanWomen and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

If you are really stuck for food, you can order one of the basics boxes from morrisons, that isn't ordered via the usual site and avoids the queue to login. Here: https://www.morrisons.com/food-boxes/box/Meat-Food-Box
That is the meat eaters one, but they do a vegetarian one also. Contents:A typical box may include:
Canned baked beans,
soup and pasta sauce
Milk
Dairy products such as butter and cheese
Bread
Rice and pasta
Meat products, such as sausage, bacon and cooked meat
Vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots and onions
Fresh meat such as chicken or beef
Essential household items
Hope that helps. £35 per box.

Have today been through the slightly stressful Ocado delivery. The delivery itself was fine, bags deposited outside the back door, driver thanked etc. Then the stressful part, 'decontaminating' the shopping! They didn't have the frozen fish I usually buy which was a bit sad, however I still have some in the freezer. Some other subs but they'll do. But all done now and that's it for another week.Absolutely beautiful day here, went for a walk again, only passed one other person. It's been so quiet, just the lovely spring birdsong for company!13

Thanks euronorris that's good to know I have most of the items in the boxes as I added to my normal stores before the panic set in I could last a little while with what I have here my lovely daughter just brought me milk bread and blueberry muffins
(as I asked when she rung).
I shop in that store almost daily you'd think they'd let you log in with your loyalty card number. In the end I made a new login only to be told "no delivery slots for tha address"!!decontaminating the shopping that's the bit I get myself in a state about too Zentimes
