I suspect it has been like this for a while, I know of someone arriving from Hong Kong when the virus hit there and they said they sailed through at the airport this end but were tested in Hong Kong before leaving they were shocked more was not done this end, a couple of weeks ago when they tried to return to Hong Kong they weren't allowing them in.MingVase said:Be aware preppers, that any British tourists returning now from the hot zone in northern Italy can walk through the airports here without any tests, or details taken, or hindrance whatsoever. The govt seem to be absolutely clueless at trying to control this thing.8 -
That happened to me earlier in the evening, out of the blue suddenly I couldn't get in and wasn't recognised. We remembered the newest new password and then I was back in but next time I logged on I was out again. Hopefully it will remember me this time when I log off and try to access again tomorrow morning.5

I had a bit of a wobble too a short while ago, looks like I'd just been logged outthriftwizard said:Well, that's odd; for a few moments the forum didn't "recognise" me and wouldn't let me log in!
MingVase/Mar, I'm not sure they are really trying to control this thing; I suspect they know that at the end of the day it can't be controlled, just delayed. They're trying to look as if they're being proactive/doing something.
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?8 -
So can anyone else. No one asked me where i’d been when I came back on Friday, and even if they knew where my flight came in from they had no clue where i’d been and who i’d Met in the meantime.MingVase said:Be aware preppers, that any British tourists returning now from the hot zone in northern Italy can walk through the airports here without any tests, or details taken, or hindrance whatsoever. i have two moe trips booked - one country this week, two next week. None of them currently high risk, but the the US was fine when I left a couple of weeks ago, and no one was panic buying loo roll here either...9 -

Same at my Waitrose yesterday. There did not even seem to be a space in the freezer for Quorn mince. I wonder if they discontinued it?Onebrokelady said:I went to do my shopping today and managed to buy everything on my list except for Quorn products,Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8948 -
Went to a shop near MIL today and toilet roll was nearly gone, it was an ASDA and they had Corona beer on special offer which also seemed to sell well, not sure whether people think there is a link or they think it is funny to drink it but clever marketing either way.
Because we live quite far away from the shops I tend to order online, went to book a slot for later in the week today as someone mentioned that slots are filling up and my usual slots were all booked, not a problem as I managed to get a slot to suit but if that continues I may have to plan further ahead or do extra trips. Quite a few options not available on the online shop too ( lots of pasta, tinned sweetcorn, tomato puree)8 -
Something I was reading on Twitter tonight: this time two weeks ago, Italy had fewer cases of this virus than we do now and were taking similar measures to those we are now and in some ways better. Their situation could be ours by two weeks from now. Person saying this said that they hoped this prediction would be wrong - as do I. We don't seem to have a specific concentration of cases in one area yet, which is one big difference.
My most immediate concerns are getting myself back to work after absence through injury and also the financial commitment I've just made. By no means do I lead an OS lifestyle (will have to change my ways sooner rather than later) but I've taken on advice over the years and had an adequate emergency preps for the weather/illness. Going for the weekly shop tomorrow but we're in no danger of running out of edibles for a few weeks.

I had also been logged out. Weird.
Anyway, glad I had some prepped meals in the freezer yesterday so we could all have something nutritious with minimal effort. Bronchitis is very tiring. Not much sleep being had.
Fingers crossed I can get my hands on some catarrh pastilles this morning.February wins: Theatre tickets9 -
DH says customers are now limited to just three of any item but they're out of toilet roll anyway. Think I heard that Boris Johnson said on telly last week that the virus should probably be left to run its course. Which it will, but I'd just rather not get it.Spend less now, work less later.10
