They have to mess around with thing's don't they? What a shame a nice sensible system can not be used in your area.

They could have drivers drop off the shopping on the doorstep, ring the bell then walk away. So they wouldn't be in danger of catching it. What do you all think ?
Then my next move would be to spray all the sprayable stuff with Zoflora or hydrogen peroxide before putting it in cupboards. Wearing gloves throughout.
Now need to work on the rest of the plan

Why do I keep reading 'Self Isolation' as 'Self Immolation'?

As they haven't figured how to isolate a family apparently. Frankly I shudder to think what my lot would do to me - work would slam the door on me as there are over a thousand souls in our building but who gets what room, who cooks, who washes up (and how differently?), who shops, who uses which loo (and what about the bathtub & shower?)
I expect the Chinese have sorted it but that bit in translation Hasn't made the news. I was appalled (but understood the logic) when the Italian priest said he had been ordered by his bishop not to say Mass. Yes, you shouldn't have folk grouped together but what of the comfort? Howe many of them can get the comfort through watching it on Facebook live or whatever?
Ah well, come the requirement, much will be made clear, or figured the hard way.6 -
U.S. CDC: "We're asking folks in every sector, as well as people within their families, to start planning for this, because as we've seen from the recent countries that have had community spread, when it hit in those countries, it has moved quite rapidly"

Bro pick's up extra shift's that way, which is how I know. Our local council got rid of parks and gardens a number of years ago and the once lovely botanical garden, parks and other planted areas depend on the kindness of volunteers and some funding from the local bid initiative. Rubbish collection etc is contracted out as GQ mentioned hers is. it's looking as though all the cuts will impact on what is now happening . The previous joined up system meant more boots on the ground and cooperation between the various sectors.A local high school a few miles away has informed parents of students and the staff members involved of the protacol if flu like symptoms appear. Students and some staff members have returned from a sking trip to Italy. Letters have gone to parents whose children weren't on the trip as an advisory tonight.Looks low risk to me but we don't really know all the facts.pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?7 -
My DP is flying back from Milan tonight - his work sent him home, didn't want him to take the risk of staying on. As Milan is in the North of Italy but isn't one of the quarantined towns, DP doesn't need to self-isolate unless he develops symptoms, according to the latest govt advice. However he's going to self-isolate anyway as he can work from home (and his work want him to do that). As for isolating himself from me, that would just be a logistic nightmare. Seems he'd need to be in one room and keep the door shut, only use the bathroom last thing, separate cutlery, etc. I just don't see how that would work at all. I have accepted that if he gets sick, so do I, and vice-versa. I expect he'll be fine, though, maybe a case of Man flu.9

As previously mentioned - things are moving fast - and if lots are forced to self isolate - or be forcibly quarantined - then systems will start collapsing - like shops being restocked - maybe even electrical supply and water?
So its sensible to be prepared.
