Hope everyone is OK after 'Dennis'. We had an awfully noisy night with battering rain on the windows and some very strong gusts of wind that made the whole house shake like a dog shaking to get dry, quite scary! all seem OK with the structure this morning and the brook across the road is flowing very high in it's course but IS still contained by the walls it normally runs in thank goodness. We're due more rain through the day though and roads out of the village are flooded and closed in 3 different directions so we couldn't go anywhere even if we wanted to. We'll walk into the village for our Sunday morning coffee and hope the shops are open, coffee shop is on a slight rise so ought to be OK, my charity shop is in the lowest part of the high street close to where the brook crosses under the road so I'm hoping it hasn't flooded there, it has in the past so fingers definitely crossed today.13

We're ok way up here but further down there's a lot of flooding. Half the Borders is flooded and the news is all about England, full reports on all regions down there but not a single word about us up here. Shockingly biased and people are very angry,
"The Borders is Underwater with flooding in Hawick, Jedburgh, Denholm, Bonchester Bridge, Newcastleton, Kielder village and those are just the places I know about.
Both BBC and ITV news failed to mention anything about it. So much for National news."

Good news on your daughter Airthrey.
Get sick of hearing stuff about down near London, which is all I seem to see when I can be bothered to watch the national news, I try to stick to the local news where possible.

I'm seeing quite a lot of news coverage about South Wales, but not a single thing about Scotland
The pic you've posted is the equivalent of anything on the news, Ming Vase ...are Sky keeping as quiet? I'm definitely suspecting something political on the BBC

Morning everyone, just popping in to add, North Wales coast and midWales are also suffering, coastal railway tracks unsafe, roads blocked by flooding, no water supply in a lot of houses. We are o.k. so far, just several trees down blocking local roads. We don't expect local problems to be reported by national media any more, making them pointless in an emergency. Local police advise 'Do not travel'.11

The BBC website has pictures from Scotland and Wales but I get what you're saying about selective coverage. DD Was in danger of being flooded in Hull a few years ago so was keeping updated on local radio when even that got taken over solely with news of the death of I think Nelson Mandela.Spend less now, work less later.12
