Oddly, pound shops have got better at charging cables but the mains bit is still gruesome priced.
Please be very gentle with yourself?

    Thanks everyone.

Feeling a little more normal today so took the opportunity this morning to go shopping for supplies although we got a bit damp in the rain.

You'll be glad to know that after going to FF and HB we're now fully stocked up probably till Christmas with dog food and treats, toothpaste, toilet paper, kitchen roll, paracetamol, tuna, Diet Coke, rice.....you get the idea.
Spend less now, work less later.

Good to hear from you Jazee :)
Yes I think you sometimes need to do the 'normal' things after such a devastating event. It keeps us sane, well I was never 100% sane but you get my drift lol
Glad to hear your stores are at a more comfortable level,we have a FF here near my parents but have noo freezer space yet so that I can plan a trip.Hope you have a peaceful day hun XXX

I seriously need to work on the freezer 'priority' list as some stuff in there is like pizza muffins and breakfast wraps which we eat only here and there when I want to have more meat and substantial stick to your rib meals in there..
Not that I'm short of anything but I think better use of the space is called for.

My husband said that. I'm trying not to panic too much, but if he decides to Action This Day quite a lot of fruit awaiting conversation to jam, crumble etc will disappear & I shudder to think what he'll do with the lads' stash of chicken. (Absolutely Nothing would be the safe course but he can be more risky than an Officer With A Map.)
And will he defrost the machine or just shovel things around? One Guess.

I still have two drawers full awaiting processing from this years bounty from the garden. My back went again at the most awkward time when I was just starting to harvest stuff!
Now I can get to work *carefully* again I'm making inroads but I swear blackberries breed in the freezer..

Keep him busy with other jobs DFV that's my usual distraction technique when OH starts to make noises about organising my stuff !

I'm sure you guys get fed up with hearing me banging on about the first world war, but I have to tell you about this book. It is truly a shocking revelation. There are parallels drawn with the propaganda generated to mislead us into war with Iraq. I'm on the last chapter. It's £2.66 on Kindle or £6 for a paperback.

Interesting, but not surprising. WWI was inevitable following the Franco-Prussian War, which itself was inevitable following German unification, which itself was inevitable following the re-alignment of what was to become The Central Powers which was inevitable following the collapse of The Holy Roman Empire, which largely kept the status quo for 1000 years. Broad strokes I know, but I think the minutiae (standardising ammunition in Belgium for example) is just normal cause & effect

Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?
