Dig for Victory, I'm very sorry to hear of your bereavement this week - I'm only lurking, not posting regularly, but I've certainly picked up how hard things have been for you in the last few years. I hope you have some time for you, as well as your mum. Together is good too.2023: the year I get to buy a car8

DfV, they say in everyone's life a little rain must fall. I am just so sorry your life has been in the middle of monsoon season in the past couple of years or so. I know you'll stay strong and cope, because that's you, but please receive a huge bucketful of love and good vibes from Chateau Nargle. One life - your life - live it!9

Ref our previous comments about the likelihood of blackouts despite our wonderful Government's assurance that "the lights will stay on this winter", this just in on Sky news today ...
People could be paid for turning off high-energy appliances during peak times this winter. Those with smart meters could get up to £6 per kilowatt hour (kWh) saved as energy prices rise with strained supply and the expectation the National Grid could come under pressure.
Ho hum ...

Started a few DIY improvement stocking - Bought a curtain pole and thermal door curtain to go over the door into the living room. Door needs to be open for cat and therefore room colder, or door closed and we have to let the cat in and out - Pick your complaint!
Also want to put one across the entrance way to the kitchen but not sure where...
Finally, I need to acquire or make draught excluders...Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)10 -
Our front door curtain isn't quite long enough to reach the floor. Up until now, we've managed with draught excluders, but I reckon instead of trying to find fabric to match and sewing a patch on the bottom, if we just move the curtain pole down on the wall by a couple of inches it should work just fine!😁2025 Fashion on the ration

This week I've been nominated by DH to do some plastering at church. The path has a few cracks which need filling in, so I'll make the mixture up, put it in a disposable cake decorating piping bag and fill the gaps in no time. I discovered this works when I needed to plaster between the step at our front door and the wall at the side!2025 Fashion on the ration
