I think this winter tatties are going to be hard to get or very dear, after this dry summer. That's why I'm getting them.

Mind you, dont take notice of me when stocking up as I stocked up on plenty of Scotts jumbo oats (my favourite) and their price is one of the few items that hasn't gone up in price. I have got quite a few tins of sainsburys hubbard tinned peach slices for when I can't get out for fresh fruit. The morrisons ones I usually buy have gone up from 31p to 45p in one week.

I'm going yo do some blackberry picking with daughter at lunchtime (wfh today). They are plentiful and decent sized here, as although dry the last couple of weeks, we weren't too bad before that round our way.
I ventured to the community Orchard yesterday, for a lunchtime stroll with my boss. The apples are plentiful! I was not prepared with bags (only my hand bag), so only grabbed a couple of eating apples and a couple of cooking apples. I wish I had been more prepared as there was also plenty of full blackberry bushes around the outside edge of the Orchard and I had nothing to cart them back with, without getting them very squished lol
The tomatoes are coming thick and fast from the garden now, including the beefsteak variety, so I will be canning some tomatoes this weekend. I also plan to pickle some cucumbers as they are all ripening at the same time! My beans have been very slow starters, but are finally full with flowers and the start of beans, so keeping fingers firmly crossed for a glut from them. And, the autumn raspberries are now ripening each day (with still more flowers appearing), so that's nice.
Hope you are all keeping well. I also plan to make a few of these, ready for winter: https://www.applegreencottage.com/diy-heating-pad/February wins: Theatre tickets7 -
Just a note that when you are doing your candle prep, keep an eye out for the wee Willy Winkie style candle holders in charity shops. Makes it so easy to carry one round the house - we have several which prove a godsend when the power goes off xx10

Thanks very much for that @Si-Clist but I have plenty to keep me going for quite a while and I don't think I could pick up a 25kg sack. I keep my spare food upstairs in my spare bedroom. My local Waitrose had them on offer for 2 boxes for £3 and they very kindly gave me some £1 off my waitrose vouchers for them so they worked out £1 per box.7

Im thinking my next prep is going to be long life milk as my kids love cereal and warm drinks so I think I will start making a stock pile of that next.Time to find me again10 -

I know a few have also brought knorr soup powders off of amazon too for big tubs that make over 200 servings so Im considering one of them for winter to at least help heat the person and it will hopefully be a quick and easy meal or warmer at least.7 -
