I'm so sorry to read your post Daz. A physical and financial hit in one go. I find Dental prices under the NHS appalling My youngest dd has had to resort to a BUPA dentist. Her dentist who treated her for many years retired and it reached the point where there are only 2 NHS practises in this area neither taking on patients. All the very strong meds through her life including Methotrexate had begun to cause serous damage to her teeth and some began to crumble. The BUPA dentist was wonderful he understood the problems for the ECV during a pandemic and overwhelming anxiety. She was seeing him every 2 weeks and began to trust. Her last appt probably six week ago he told her he was leaving the practice and put her on the list for his replacement who so far doesn't seem to have arrived. She'd faced her fears, begun to trust him and now she has no idea who the new dentist will be or when she will see them. The one she had was recommended to us because he's known to be gentle and patient and understands both physical and mental health.Keep an eye on your wrist and knee to make sure you haven't damaged either of both. I hope the pain eases and slow down. I often nip somewhere rather than walk slowly and it doesn't always end well!pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.9 -
I was half expecting it go at some point..already had a plate in for a front tooth.the bar had snapped off...but thankfully managed to muddle through...so avoiding having to pay 2 lots 280 pound....my wrist is not swollen yet it still hurts, can pick up an empty cup, but not a cup of coffee with it....in work tomorrow that should be fun8

Found a gap in my preps. I have covid, and most foods and drink don't taste right. I have found diluted pineapple juice is ok but I only have 2 cartons so I am rationing my drink in the hope I will soon be able to more than spend my time in bed or sit in a chair and let the TV pass in front of me. No family or friends only acquaintances who have not offered to help.
When recovered will have to increase pineapple juice stock. It's not something I normally drink all the time, just an occasional treat but a life saver at the moment. It has shown me that gaps don't become apparent until you are unable to replenish supplies which you didn't know were important.

Hope you are managing, and aren't too poorly @littlemoney
Would your neighbours, or local shops bring food or meds to you if you rang up and asked? Our local authority had a group of volunteers to bring things to people isolating with covid, so that might be worth looking into as well.2025 Fashion on the ration

That's just awful. Hope you get well enough to be able to go out very soon. Take care.
Just had a thought...do you have a milkman? They sometimes bring things other than just milk.2025 Fashion on the ration

Thankfully a little better. I'm hoping by the time I run out of bread I will feel able to get to a shop. I didn't buy bread in my last shop as I was going to defrost the freezer. Just bad timing for me.

Replenishing stocks after recent illness but the one item I really wanted was not available. Long life pineapple juice.

Hi guys
This is where prepping comes in handy. It finally came to a head last week at work when it was hot, busy and extremely stressfully. I’m 60 and have been struggling physically for a while, We had 2 members of staff to run the shop ( less than half of what is needed) They had let the staff run down to nothing and now can’t replace them cos no one wants to do it. The office has promised transfer staff for weeks but when the time comes they send them elsewhere. So I did my sums, checked we can manage and then gave my notice. We can manage on OHs money and I’ll look for something after we come back off our holiday in July. I have savings but they will be a last resort.
But we have plenty of food in and I’ll manage on very little until I’ve a new job.Anyway I’ve 3 shifts to go so I better get up and get on with it.
Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine 🌞
