    Hugs to CCL.

Quite productive week so far for me, yesterday wasn't an NSD as I went to get some photos printed for my xmas present crafting. I'm trying to print some family photos onto some flat wooden baubles with reindeers on one side. However, the print shop didn't take cards so I spent €2 on cash machine fee. (In spain you can only take cash free money out of your own bank's cash points..) so this was annoying but my time is more valuable at the moment. funny the things you miss about home. haha So still on 3/15 NSD.

After work completed Phase 1 of crafting... the glue didn't seem to be "taking" to the photo but need to leave for 24 hrs so will see if it has worked tonight. Also trying to prep things for moving house on Friday. Most of my belongings have already been shifted to BF's house down the road (4 trips with suitcase/backpack so far)

Practiced a bit of Spanish yesterday, I've only been teaching in my current company since September and I'm starting to work out the people whose level in English is similar to mine in Spanish so tend to try to sit with these people at lunchtime so I can practice more. I have also started to stalk the company cleaners around the office when they arrive as they're usually great for a chinwag!

  • No NSD yesterday, a slightly unscheduled work do which was enjoyable but I'd forgotten how much more expensive London pubs are! Bought one round and I had some cash in my purse I forgotten about so all in budget. Also picked up some stocking fillers, just need underwear, socks and Xmas PJs now.

Feeling a bit grumpy due to lack of sleep and more work stuff ongoing. I really need my 2 week break.
  • I had to buy bloody milk for the office yesterday, which scuppered my NSD. So I'm still sitting on 5/15 and behind schedule.

I'm falling behind on my typical productivity too. I'll make a change to that tonight. There. I've said it. So, I will. Watch this space.

CCL - good heavens, what a nightmare for you.

Day off today so we get a 30 minute lie in and I drive the kids to school which they should appreciate but don't.

Have made a list of jobs to do and did one before the school run (putting a few stitches in a bow/belt which goes around a dress I have), will do the rest this morning then walk the dog. It's foggy here so I've decided to run later rather than cycle first thing, ran last night too.

CCL So sorry Ex hub behaved like that, good for you for calling the police.

How rubbish have I been? I have been completely snowed under, although I can't quite decide what with. Work dos (free), Kids, wrapping presents and just general life seems to have ran away with me...

I am behaving myself though, still in budget. :T My car service was considerably cheaper than I had saved for, apparently the "big" service is not every year and so it is only £84 rather than the £280 it was last year so I have put most of the change to one side for January when things are a little tighter and put some of it towards a new hoover. I have needed a new hoover for about a year but have been making do, and I had some Argos vouchers that work gave me, which I used as well, so it only actually cost me £49.

I have been thinking a lot about my 1000 days, I really want to be in our own home, 2 stone lighter.Ideally I would like to find 20k by the end of next year, but I am only on track for 17. I just cannot commit to saving any more money as we save such a high amount as is and we still need to live. I am hoping that not really having a plan and just saving any extra I get will get us somewhere near.:rotfl:

I have been trying to chase awe- for free. My kids have one of those "Elf on the Shelf" things and I have to say it is proving to be a lot of fun. I have knitted him a range of things with left over wool :j

Not loads to report really. Hoping things will be a bit calmer next week once all gifts are delivered and all our visits are done :D

Woke up, took my pills, fell asleep, woke again at gone noon. Probably due to what I did yesterday. I honestly did not know if I would be able to mend the cupboard (I'm already volunteered to assemble a radiator cover - mum lending my services again, it used to be maths teaching).

I have had a bath and was working on low impact jobs (collecting small amounts of rubbish and paper recycling and finding spaces on shelves for odd items but when I went downstairs (thought I heard a knock at the door) DS3 asked what 'we' (I.m always wary of that we) were going to do with the mattress in the kitchen - apparently they've been waiting for me to give them instructions.

Mattress is now outside and to the side (they wouldn't want to make it difficult to get to the bins in case they had to do it) covered in 2 plastic painting sheets and one of the heavier tarpaulins and trussed up with the old washing line.

DS3 was trying to get Beloved to slag me off (she's been too afraid to say anything since we 'had words' and still won't). She did say it was a pity there wasn't a second water source in the kitchen so we could have a dishwasher (there is). So that is now on the cards - going to negotiate that they scrape off plates and put them in it before I give in. It would make dealing with baking trays and roasting dishes much easier - things that have to be scrubbed. I was already considering buying a large fridge freezer (have a feeling the freezer may break sometime soon). Will be buying bigger ones when they need replacing (alternate freezer space means food stocks can be reduced for defrosting whilst keeping a core store. No way I could use a chest freezer now (same as using deep trolleys at the SM).

Today's plan is to get stuff out of the house, some to the bins but more to cs. The more time I spend with mum, the more I realise she has held onto things she hasn't been able to use for ten or even 20 years - go Swedish Death Cleaning.

My positive 1000 day plan isn't yet sufficiently perky - it need to be a balance of optimistic (don't borrow trouble) and realistic. Maybe considering new purchases is part of it - I found the dishwasher and tumble dryer very useful when I first got them (after my hysterectomy) but for environmental reasons I've limited my use of them otherwise (although I always buy the most energy efficient models I can find).

Recently the backlog of washing has meant that several loads have had to be rewashed with white vinegar because they've gone musty in the queue for the radiators. Since I can no longer use the washing line (I am drying outside by draping things over garden chairs + waterbutt, the dolly and any bushes the right height), I need to consider alternatives. Some use of the tumble dryer is better than re-washing.

I need to remember that I am no longer absolutely broke and that I need to make the changes that allow me to spend time on the things I enjoy and want to do.

Okay off to the library to see how much room there is in the charity bin.

  • Hello everyone!!

I am back!! Had a bit of time off to sit around moaping and feeling sorry for myself but I have decided I am not going to write the month off! Especially as I shouldn't let someone else get me down.

I haven't read anyone's posts yet so I am going to go back and read them all and will update you all properly tomorrow! I hope you are all doing well and sending massive hugs to everyone :D

My son had another ear infection and was told that he would get more and more now the weather is getting worse (that's about the 6th one he's had this year) and now we both have colds so I'm waiting for that to turn into the next one!

Anyway, I've really not been very on it challenge wise, I dread to think how far in my OD I am and how much of my bills money I have used :o I will have a look later and work everything out. Will just need to be extra tight the next few weeks/months.

    Off to catch up!

    C xx

Hugs to all: a lot of people are facing difficult times, it seems.

My planning and plotting is usually quite short range, so suddenly thinking about 1000 days is ...interesting! It's such a tidy number :) but doesn't particularly fit into anything of mine. I finally get my state pension in about 740 days ... maybe there's something there, I can work up to getting it and then have a good few months *having* it and see how the finances fare. Something to think about.

    NSD today 7/15.
Went to park for my usual walk.
    Self care done.
Doing alright at not spending too much time on computer, mobile and no computer games today.
2 outings I put my name down for I have now turned down. People have been informed.
    Grateful for:
Having the ingredients in to make mince pies.
Having something in for my sandwiches to take with me for the course I am attending Thursday and Friday.
Got paperwork and bag ready for course so no rushing tomorrow morning.
    Chilling out.

Karma - by the time you get your state pension, you'll be 3/4 of the way through whatever it is that you decide to go for in the 1000 days! And yes, it is a lovely tidy number indeed!

Today I am grateful for the peace I am finding in not playing that game on my tablet and the time and brain space it gives me, for enjoying dd's carol concert (tho she doesn't want to hear any more carols for a while, they 'rehearsed' so dang much), for getting front row seats for the concert (we'd read the info, and queued at the correct door!), for a particular class being adorable today, for fresh weather, for proof-reading a couple of things for dh (so now I know what he's up to), for completing my foodbank challenge, for being able to start exercising again, for watching Cadfael and still enjoying the programmes.
