Not NSD - bought DD some helium balloons from a fab local small business - amazing service and cheaper than ones in town. Also bought some things in farmf00ds which were on multi-offers and then used £2.50 off £25 voucher (spent £25 and odd pence before voucher)
Busy morning at work. Slightly eventful - think it's just the time of year and coming towards the end of a long and busy term (plus who really wants a Maths exam first thing on a Monday morning at any time of the year?)
Still no Candy Crush - yeay!
Still have too much on. Hopefully will ease after this weekend (although next week's calendar is horribly busy)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Today I am grateful for seeing both my mentees, for positive things at work, for lovely colleagues, for it not raining, for getting things done, for plenty of walking, for dd happy at school, for headspace and quiet times, for reading and music.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Evening Turtles
Today was a nsd :j. 6/15
I had my reading before work time which is helping my wellbeing enormously.
Stuck to the meal plan and the budgets are in tact.
Got stuck unavoidably with the biggest drained at work:eek: but didn't get sucked into the vortex of gloom:j
No excessive snacking but feel like I'm still fighting the bad habit
Today I'm grateful for my relationship with my DD, progress with an emotional family issue, my best work pal who never fails to make me laugh, getting to bed early after a weary day.

Hi all:j
Another quick post but promise I will get to grips with it this week...spent most of the day dealing with the mountain of washing up (dishwasher still crocked). TBF DH did do a sinkful last night but I had to wash them all again ...they weren't right clean..heyho he means well. Also cleaning the rooms we were in & disposing of all the bottles etc, although no-one had much to drink.
NSD again today so: 5/15 NSDs
Gratitudes today: lovely Christmas cards from family, nice email from aunt saying they enjoyed the hamper I made for them, short time outside in fresh air AND finally finding where I'd put my Aunt's Christmas present I knitted ….sadly they visited yesterday:rotfl: However, it can still go via the post office!!

Fifteen No Spend Days. Trying but seems really difficult this month! on 3/15
One thousand days. I love this! having a problem deciding what to do though. There are so many things I'd like to achieve in 1000 days, but realistically I know it will be helpful to have just one or two!!! I have been in Spain now for approx 500 days. That's half the challenge time and I have made very little progress with the language. I'd like to use the 1000 days to reach C1 level in Spanish.
Refrain from browsing your phone. Not doing too badly with this.
What kind of month do you want for yourself?
As other people have said, I want to chill and not spend January trying to recuperate.
Here’s a space to make up your own rule for the month. Please share it! I am going to spend EVERY spare minute I have learning Spanish. Not doing too well on this. Need to organise my time better. Hopefully by the New year I'll have got the hang of it.
Outings. Drop one. None to drop!
Slow living this month. I
3 nights out this month and next. A dinner next week, a night in London (but mostly at a friend's house so should be cheapish), and New year (also not hectic) That's it.
Omm.
I have been meditating but not as much as I would like. Grateful for not having a cold, for my housemate cooking for me, for my BF letting me store my belongings at his over xmas, for a colleague's patience with me and my Spanish, for only having 1 more full week of work.
No entry to any sales. Likewise, no takeaways NOPE. Did badly on the takeaways last week though, All home cooked meals this week.
“I am and always will be the optimist. The hoper of far-flung hopes, the dreamer of improbable dreams.” So says the Doctor. Be a dreamer. Be an optimist. Will do! ”
Chase down more awe and joy. Went to have a look at the beautiful lights in central madrid
Read fiction before bed. too sleepy
Exercise. Went for a walk yesterday lunchtime
Refuse to get sucked into guilt spending. Trying my best!!!
Visit your local area. Visited small town outside madrid at the weekend.
Exterminate one bad habit from your life for the first 10 days.
I am going to stop my students talking during class. Take control. Not doing too badly on this. need to step it up a notch
Remember that you are blessed.
going to donate some money to a homeless charity.

Sorry not been on for several days as DH decided we would decorate the spare room which was cleverly disguised as a dumping ground. Had to take him up on the offer as he hates decorating unfortunately it set his asthma off and we had to played hunt the inhaler which was eventually found in the car! However its almost finished and looks so much better for a lick of paint.
Debt-free date / Mortgage-free date / Savings target date. No debt. Mortgage free date is 2036 hoping for 2034. Saving for an electric car hopefully 2022.
Count up to 15. Fifteen No Spend Days. Sorry going to rebel against this one going for 10NSD 4/10
Treat yourself well. continuing with 15 minutes of yoga a day and hip is definately less painful.
One thousand days. Decided that I would like to complete the 3 peaks challenge so have started to up my fitness level from sloth to speedy slug. Will have completed my degree and then hopefully will have started conversion course. Will continue to look at ways we can live more environmetally friendly within our budget.
What kind of month do you want for yourself? Hmmm I would like a stress free month if possible as this last year has been like a roller coast ride. Not put too many demands on myself to create a perfect Christmas is going well as palmed off most of the days to others, so will need to do very little cooking.
Here’s a space to make up your own rule for the month. So cheese free week went well nobody crumbled. This week is no meat week so will see how that goes for the others. This week will be easy for me as I don't eat it anyway.
Outings. The only outing I'd not cancelled, has been cancelled due to friend having flu.
Slow living this month. Off loaded family christmas dinners to others. DH and DD1 are onboard to cook dinner once a week , this is going really well and is appreciated by me.
Omm. make time for 15 minutes of yoga a day 8/31 Write down 4 gratitudes a day. 1) its a new day full of possibilities 2) early mornings to myself 3) pre made home cooked meals 4) all christmas presents are bought.
No takeaways, canteen meals (unless free), coffee shop or corner shop visits. None open this early
Candles - enjoying this, makes me feel sleepy
Switch off your tech an hour before going to bed - ok
“Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80.This is why I want to do the 3 peak challenge
Read fiction before bed. love a bit of escapism
Exercise. Dog walk and yoga everyday
Refuse to get sucked into guilt spending. Not doing this, this year, decided not to buy DH brothers anything this year. They've never bought us a gift and I've always made them something but decided this year to go with nothing. Not got the time or the inclination
Exterminate (see, we can learn from the DALEKS…) one bad habit from your life for the first 10 days. I will not watch bad tv in the afternoons that suck me in and I get nothing done. Hmm this is very hit and miss.
Remember that you are blessed. Count your blessings daily. Be grateful for what you have. And remember those that have less – donate money, food, non-perishables, blankets to a charity that you want to support. Relish life, one day at a time.Bag of clothes donated to c/s, Done the foodbank advent calender, donated money to the salvation army and water aid instead of presents this year.

Morning!
Today is the big Christmas performance for the year 4s (8 yr olds in old money).
Going today rather than putting it off until Thursday.
I have the most incredible urge to go out and blow a stack of money. Which is so utterly unlike me. There is a mad woman inside my head screaming Sod it!! SPEND SPEND SPEND!!!! It must be the adverts on tv. Finally consumerism is catching up with me. I am ignoring it.
Mostly because the car stuff is due tomorrow and I do not know how much it is going to cost. If it is under £800 I am fine. But worried I will go out and blow the rest on Thursday.
Keeping my hands firmly in my pockets for the next 48 hours, or until the urge passes.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

LavenderBee - hope you're through the worst of what ever is going on, and good to hear of a library opening rather than closing.
Half day today, have filled the car with petrol on the way home, had lunch, walked the dog and am going to visit mum in a minute (dread this as she is the most negative person I know).
Kids were packed off to bed at 7.30pm last night because me and DH were sick to death of them arguing with each other, we then had some oven chips and watched a film on Netflix, it was all rather peaceful.
DD got embroiled in a secret santa at her voluntary job so I have given her a lovely notebook and pen set to give, we have several of these that DH rescued from a card shop when they were chucking them out:eek:, I've given several as gifts and donated some too. Why would they just be chucked out? Crazy world.
For those of you hating gift wrapping, as of last year due to my low waste lifestyle I stopped wrapping and use re-useable fabric/paper bags and some sacks from when the kids were small, I put the gifts in as they come and tell the kids to close their eyes and take things out one at a time.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Thanks Dolly - I think we're returning to normality in some areas, though I still have a poorly baby on my hands. Never rains but it pours etc!
I am so pleased about the library (as you may have sensed); it's been combined with tourist information and I live in a touristy area so I guess that helps to an extent. I borrowed Mary Berry's Fast Bakes, looks excellent, I may even need to buy a second hand copy...
Finally a NSD, now on 6/15. No baby clothes bought on eBay
Gratitudes:
I have surprisingly little baby sick on me today
A "day off" (we've stayed in)
Getting through two whole loads of washing including all the nappies
Starting to sew some Christmas gifts0
