Identical thing happened with OH same phone replaced. Really worrying that Apple itself has trouble replacing its own batteries!

Apple is not a single all seeing entity that is perfect. It’s made up with individuals who come with their own personalities including the flaws.

People screw up and depending on our own level of acceptance of that we will either resolve the issue by negotiating a satisfactory outcome that keeps the relationship moving forward or just cut all ties and build new relationships.

So a company made up of thousands of employees and customers in the hundreds of millions then it’s not troubling in the slightest.

I suspect most likely there's a design flaw that makes the batteries hard to remove without damaging the phone. Maybe even a very slight swelling jams the battery in.
