Available balance is nil, will I be charged?

Hi,
Just looking for some technical advice on my bank account! My available balance is coming up as nil as my "pending transactions" outweigh my balance by £20 or so. I realise this means further transactions won't be accepted but its a short term problem as I'm waiting for a car hire deposit to be cancelled (that's the biggest pending transaction, so I know the money won't actually be taken out) and payday is tomorrow (phew).
I'm just worried that I'll be landed with an overdraft bill even though there is technically a few hundred in there.
Can anyone reassure me / send me packing to the bank with what cash I can scrape together before 2:30?!
Thanks
Becca

You should only be charged for using an overdraft based on your actual balance rather than your available balance.
Be mindful that some debit card transactions may move from pending at the end of the day rather than before 2.30pm.
If no available funds were put in the account by 2.30pm then if any DDs or SOs left today, they may be returned unpaid.
Depending which bank you are with will depend whether or not you incur a charge for that too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
