G24 Sports Direct. Seeking advice for a long time friend.

Options
Hello again folks. Sorry to disturb you. If i can ask you all one swift question... a friend of mine who I have known for over 10 years has recently moved to my road. She has just had a letter from some company called G24. It seems she is being 'told' to pay £100 for staying over at Sports Direct for the duration of 24 minutes extra. Can i get some advice as to what to say to her please? She has no internet facility as she has only just moved into the property, so this means that i'll be doing the friendly thing til such time as she's 'live'.

If anyone could offer any suggestions, that would be superb of you.

Thanks very much!

The first thing to tell her is that G24 are scamming muppets.
The second thing to do is read the newbies thread where all is explained.

Ha! That sounds fair enough! I did have a look at the newbie thing but couldn't seem to find anything related to this bunch of 'muppets'. Could you possible show me the relevant part please?

    Thank you.

yes, the same template applies to EACH AND EVERY PARKING COMPANY where a pcn has been received, regardless

its a KEEPER appeal, using that template

as G24 are IPC members, they will refuse the appeal and possibly offer IAS, at this point your friend is in IGNORE mode

but a landowner complaint is BEST in EACH AND EVERY CASE anyway, especially these G24 ones , so get the complaint in by that keeper to SPORTS DIRECT or the M.A. or the LANDOWNER and get it cancelled, ASAP , if not sooner
  • Redx...

sorry, i'm not understanding the term 'landowner complaint'. I have zero clue when it comes to anything of legal phrasing, so sorry in advance about that. Obviously you know your stuff, or at least you sound like you do (not an insult), so could you clarify what you mean please?

    Thanks!

..... who does the car park belong to ? landowner ... landlord .... company ....

    hence

    'landowner complaint'.

as before try sports direct first ... they may well sort it ... if not ask them who owns the land ...

Naturally that makes sense when i think about it! Cheers for clearing that up.

I think i'll just do for her what i did for myself, that being throw that template at the scumbags and see what the brings. Reason behind that is that i know for a fact that Sports Direct are a joke when it comes to responding to letters and such like. Mountain bike back earlier this year. Enough said. Good idea or bad one?

a landowner complaint is a complaint by the keeper of the vehicle direct to the landowner, whoever that landowner may be

the reason for this is that for a parking contract to exist, the landowner must give their written permission in any contract to flow through down to the parking company who enforce the parking contract

this may be because the landowner is say tesco and has employed a parking company to manage the parking, in their contract between the two parties

hoever, it can be convoluted and go from say the landowner to a Managing Agent (M.A.) at say a retail park where several retailers are on site, so the landowner doesnt want the bother, he or she just wants the rent, so delegates the work to the M.A. in a contract, then the M.A. employs the PPC for enforcement

the Land Registry hold details on all landowners , but its best to determine if a retailer or MA. (if there is one) can cancel any charge and get that done , rather than moaning at the Duke Of Westminster

so yes use the template from the keeper

BUT , i already told you that this will be refused, its a given that almost all appeals are refused, hence why all MP,s are talking about it and bringing in the new CoP, like in the house of commons only last friday

    change will happen , eventually

in this case, get the COMPLAINT in, as well as any appeal, no question about it

You do paint a picture, i'll give you full credit for that! Ok, i think i get the general idea of what you're saying. I'll go back to what i just said to Ralp-y though...
