Morning all.
PM received, Valli. Thank you.
I hope the OHs are ok, Ionafan and Narc0. And that grumpy ones have suitably recovered.
DH spent ALL day yesterday putting up the replacement kitchen blind. I was suitably restrained, and retreated to the dining room to simmering-rage tackle paperwork, including getting some car insurance quotes. I did eventually manage to vacuum through downstairs, clear the ironing pile, and do some Valli-mantra-cooking to use up various bits from the fridge.
Today the plan is to order SiL and BiL's present (check my list as then I think that may be the last one to sort), write some Christmas cards, create something [STRIKE]showstopping[/STRIKE] edible from some gifted cooking apples, stand and stare at the RoD spare bedroom (it's not a good thing when I have to qualify just which RoD I'm talking about!) for some inspiration.

Plus-size burlesque is a real thing, Kaz
Drinking a bucket of tea and considering whether to do some washing up, as I've already drained the foetid swamp goo sitting in the bowl with the plates and can't do anything with the clothes mountain because Himself is still asleep. Feeling the urge going away as the winter sunshine has just switched off and it's gone all grey and murky out there again.
I think we need some more lights/sparkly things in here. I'm sure there must be some put away somewhere in the house.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hi all
Grey here too. I was volunteering yesterday at a charity event which went off really well so that was me done for the day.
This morning I did our December budget and because OH had a week off sick in November we have £26.37 to last the month after all the bills are paid and money is allocated for food and diesel.
All presents are (pretty much) bought but its going to be a challenge. I am going to try and squeeze a little out of the food budget and I do have a small amount of overtime to be paid which will cover some extra Christmas food and drink. 2019 is definitely going to be a year of budgeting and planning finances though.
So sitting down with a coffee. There is a little ironing to do and some clean laundry to put away. In a while.0 -
Various bitty errands run, including careful planning of route (into town, out other side and then back again by a back route because the roads are heaving). I now have my family secret santa gifts all bought. I have another stocking filler for DD and craft stuff for tomorrow. 35% of the clothes mountain turned out to be Himself's.
Emptied two drawers and filled one with the small amount of work suitable tops and the other with an Idiot Cat with a pair of gloves that are now His and You Can't Have Them Back.
Waiting for the cat to comedown from bleach-spray-induced-psychosis. Genius idea of Himself to clean the bannisters (when has he EVER done that before) whilst I'm dealing with conveniently sized drawers at launch/landing height. But he is still in [strike]his[/strike] my towelling dressing gown, having spent most of the brief period he's been up playing retro games on his laptop, so perhaps he's trying to not get murdered during his next nap.
Dinner in SC.
I'm feeling concerned about the lack of clothing as the bin bags are getting filled with stuff that's worn out. And that I can't get any more due to lack of funds.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
