Package posted, shower room getting a real drubbing. J has very kindly washed all the paintwork on the ground floor and various stages of stairs and landings. Struggling with everything else, but those bits sparkle!
    Better is good enough.

If in doubt I'll have a kitten!

Cut out the middleman and go straight for the kitten.

I got well and truly rained upon on my way home - the combination of the Heavens opening, trying to avoid the reach of the massive puddles the car drivers simply have to aim for, only to find myself directly under the non existent gutterpipes along the same road (why do so many Victorian terraces not have any drains out the front?) and that I genuinely could not see a thing because the rain was so heavy it bounced up underneath my glasses and into my eyes, I'm amazed I even made it home.

It seems to have been dark nearly all day, and rain like you've never heard.

DH is out this evening, DD and I have had an easy dinner, and I have tidied the kitchen. That and changing the bedding so that I can get the wm on early tomorrow has been the limit of the flying today. I ought to do some paperwork on the pc, but I really cba. I don't often sit in front of the tv, but tonight the remote is all mine....and I have re-found the knitting from way back when. That's this evening sorted then.

Yep.. best option.. but you can only get kittens in multiples and one HAS to be all black.. or both..

Seems to be an influx of rodents in Flyhouses now the weather is getting chillier. Ours has been quiet for a night or two, so must check to see if the ......tasty stuff we left it....has done the trick.

Lots of bits and pieces today (as with most days).
    - filled bird feeders
    - went to gym
    - gradually setting up a new laptop which I negotiated for yesterday in PC W***** fairly successfully - got an extra £30 off an already Cyber Monday price by mentioning TopCashB£ck. Felt it was about time I handed back the uni's now slow laptop I'd been given 4yrs ago - as a contractor I am meant to have my own. So far so good although I should have been patient and downloaded Office 365 from uni tomorrow as our internet is pathetic. It took 6hrs!!
    - addressed and stamped Christmas cards. Just a few more to write.
    - did a bit of paint rubbing down.
    - went to Mr T and a few other shops.
    - am now writing a report while sorting out paperwork for tomorrow's assessment.
    - Got most of family's "presents" via The Big Give as we tend to give tiny stuff plus a charity donation. I don't know if people are giving less this year, but I got all my 1st choice of charities at one hit; often the 'matched' money runs out and I have to wait till the next batch.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

I see no need for a 'but' in this sentence.

Anyway, you have to have at least 3 vantage points over a wild rodent. One left, one right and one peering over the top. You could, at a pinch, take one of the spots, which leaves two more to be filled...

Just the 7 here - and they are great little-hot-water-bottles!!

Dad is 84 today so went round to see him with a take out after Rainbows :D

I'm sure I did some flying this morning before I went to work p.m. - errr - oh yeah! WM x 1, WU and cleaned the hob.

Flying (in an aeroplane) this time next week so plenty of sorting and packing to be done. I have lots of lists!!! :o

  • Thank you for the hug Fayolle. It was definitely needed.

The plasterer has left the building!!! Woop woop de woop.

Operation get back on track (temporarily) is a go! (I'll need to turf everything out for decorators at some point.

So, need to do some prep for a meeting later (I'll do that now)

Pickle to the Childminder's then 3 hours of supersonic flying before meetings.

    Wish me luck!

    Morning all,

I've found the "lost" Christmas cards, so a result there. I've counted up and still need to buy a few more. Frustratingly I know that there is a HUGE box of my mum's card making stuff in the loft. If I had the will, that could be two birds with one stone. I don't appear to have the will...

I'm at work today as a swap to free me up for medical appointments tomorrow. So Wednesday's list is moving to....who knows when. The weekend, methinks. Along with Monday's and Tuesday's. I have sent DH off with the tiniest of shopping lists - milk, bread - as he is going to Mr S later to pick up a parcel. Apparently I have asked the impossible.

Dinner out from the freezer (YS goodies from last week) and wm running so that I can hang the bedding up indoors before I leave.

Have a lovely day, all, and stay dry!
