Morning all. It's put up the tree day and I couldn't sleep I am so excited, except I have to clear the space first.
Need to wait in for a delivery too so dog walk can wait, weather permitting anyway and this afternoon I am helping at a Christmas fair.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
morning
Food delivery ordered for 20th December :T
Change of plan today - I was going to make an early start and be at the shops for 8.30 am (to do all my Christmas shopping in one swoop before it got too busy for me) but DS and GF would like a lift to the station leaving here at 9.25 so I've had a rethink. Shopping will now be done next Saturday and today? …. I have a parcel to pick up from Dad's, which will contain my Christmas cards amongst other goodies so I'll call at Dad's on my way home from the station, have a coffee with him, then come home and write my cards-to-be-posted, (I bought the stamps last night). Coffee with Lorna at 2pm. I'll pick up burgers and bread buns from Mr C00p on my way home - that's DS and GF's tea sorted when I've picked them up from the station at a currently unknown time - must remind them that Strictly is on tonightSo before or after please - NOT during
I can't work out if my anxiety level is raised because I'm being organised OR I'm being organised because my anxiety level is raisedHeyho - one day at a time

 creeping back in
Hope Mr Narc0 is OK.
He seems fine today thanks, apart from the large purple lump! This morning I've been doing the painting while he's removed the hall radiator so we can paint and paper behind it. Hope Mr I is not going down with chest infection.
1 load washing done.
Solar meter read and emailed.
Gathered together cards and present needed for tomorrow when we meet 2 brothers, wives and mum in Basingstoke for a meal.
Filled in form for local butcher's order, hopefully we will go to the Christmas tasting at their farm shop today.
Discussed the mums. Mil has announced that she's not coming to any meals at which my mum is present. Tricky. Mr N said firmly that it is all decided that Christmas is at our house, potentially 8 of us, and her alternative is to be home alone:( sadly with her dementia about the only thing she has latched on to remembering at the moment is that about 10yrs ago she fell out with my mum. She can't recall why.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Been taken round large town! to 'select' my Christmas present................saw nothing I wanted or really liked, loads of overpriced stuff............I don't need / want clothes, shoes, perfumes, kitchen stuff, house stuff.............so I suggest a goat / chicken via Oxfam / Christian aid or similar got told no, I was in tears, he is not talking to me either..............wonderfull! (not)
Anyhow the tree is up, he sort of helped with the lights, then moaned that he had glitter on his jumper and wants to wear it to the pub and 'what will the blokes down the pub think' .....you know what I don't give a stuff what the blokes down the pub think, you were helping me..........tell them that..........or wear something else.
I gonig to do the ironing, at least it won't answer me back or grumble at me.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Next time he moans about glitter, tell him to tell his mates that you're secretly a burlesque dancer at weekends. Himself was permanently sparkly when we had one as a lodger and when somebody in the pub tried to pick on him by mentioning it (bearing in mind that Himself isn't the most macho looking bloke and is small enough that a tanked up moron is going to feel really good about having a go at him and assumed he wouldn't be there with a female), I chipped in by saying it's really annoying for him when I come in and need help to get out of my corset and stockings of an evening and my body glitter just gets Everywhere. Neanderthal blushed, his mates laughed at him and, although Himself was still a bit embarrassed, the looks and raucous cheers he got from the Neanderthal's mates cheered him up immensely.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Was planning a long lie in today as I have been shattered all week, only to be woken up by a delivery meant for next door. And then the driver was so apologetic at my getting up (hair all over the place, bleary eyed and looking horrendous), she proceeded to start a long explanation of how much pressure they're under and how sorry she was to get me out of bed on my day off - I just wanted to take the parcel, vaguely scribble over the delivery computer with my nail, shut the door and not speak to anybody. Seriously, mate, I don't care; just give me the parcel and stop talking at me.
Final rehearsal for tonight's performance done this afternoon and then, after a *moment* when I realised the trousers I had planned to wear need me to wear stilts to hang right, I made do with a maxi length T-shirt dress, a cheap top with lace inserts in the sleeves to look respectable and a scarf/wrap Himself bought me. Bunged on a shedload of slap, gave up on my hair and just pinned it up and, much to my surprise, turned out to be one of the best dressed (and got loads of compliments about my scarf/wrap, which I passed on to Himself, who looks quite pleased).
I had fun. It's been a very, very long time since I did anything related to classical music and I've never sung classically before or got dressed up for anything much at all. I think I'm going to keep doing it.
Anyhow, tomorrow's main job is retrieving almost the entire contents of two wardrobes and a chest of drawers off the bedroom floor and putting it all back again. The problem with wearing mostly black all the time is that you can never find The One Black Thing You Want.
Mind you, during my [strike]frantic chucking of clothing across the place[/strike] casual perusal of my clothing options, I found the shoe rack unused in the spare wardrobe, so that's been relocated to behind the front door, as I'm becoming reconciled to my personality - there is no way I am ever going to not kick my shoes off the moment I come in the door - and retrieved a lamp I really like but Himself tidied away, to have in the living room by my seat so I can read.
Next job tomorrow will be to persuade Himself to get his crap away from the front of my bookcase doors so I can actually get to my books. But as he's the one who carefully washed, dried and folded the clothes scattered about upstairs, I think I'd better do that first.
But tonight, it's Gin o'clock.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
