morning all,
a quick one from me too today. I've had a bug for the last few days and it's a really strange one. I have a headache that seems to come in waves, stays for a short while then goes, comes back again..... you get the idea. My stomach has been upset too and my glands are up and down like a yo-yo. I'm not the only one who is feeling like this so at least I know it isn't anything too serious.
Job no 2 today. (Yuk!) Only had enough work for 1 1/2 hours last week. Wonder what this week will bring?
No idea what's for dinner as I don't feel much like eating right now.
Have a thrilling Thursday. ((((((hugs)))))) to one and all."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi all - just back on with a coffee before I tackle the ironing - have a huge pile since going through my squashed-up wardrobe yesterday.
DONY-GAL - I sort of retired last year; my job (as a dental nurse in a surgery with about 10 million patients with bad teeth, and assistants who couldn't speak English very well, let alone write it) sent me way into Stressville. Until then, I didn't think work-related stress existed. Anyway, DH MADE me retire - I think he was getting sick of what it was doing to my normally quite sunny nature! How did I ever find the time to go out to work? I work part-time, hours to suit myself, from home, now - it doesn't earn a fortune but I am much happier and more relaxed. I was so resenting having to go out to work when I would much rather be OSing back at home. I hope you both enjoy your retirement but the time will still run away with you!
TWINK and KYLE - the weather forecast looks horrendous up there today. I hope you don't lose greenhouses or have power cuts. Thinking of you. KYLE - poor LO - give him a big (((hug))) from me.
HESTER - that's right, you tell her! You're not her mum and I think she doesn't realise how lucky she is to have you as her landlady. Let's hope she goes home for Christmas and you get some much-deserved peace and quiet.
CRAZY - ((((((((hugs)))))))) - thinking of you.
SCUZZ - You ARE special, whether it's your birthday or not!
HILSTEP - so sorry to hear about your Mum - you must all be devastated. (((hugs))) to all of you. Congratulations on your good news - something lovely for your Mum to look forward to.
Well, BM is on making dough for some soft bread rolls - first time I've tried it for rolls, so I hope it works out. WM is on with second load, ironing board is up, bathroom cleaned, breakfast cleared up and dinner planned. I was thinking I hadn't done much since DH left at 6.45 but, looking at that list, I haven't done too badly! I'm planning on going down to the village - I still haven't found a present for DIL's birthday on Sunday and I need a few bits from the supermarket. I hope to have time to visit the gym again this morning. Afternoon will be spent working for a couple of hours (after my post-lunch nap!) and then some knitting. One of my favourite programmes on TV tonight - Ice Road Truckers - on the History Channel - I love it. Perhaps I won't even have my nap - we went to bed earlier than usual last night and both felt more refreshed this morning. I'd love to not feel so tired after lunch so perhaps earlier nights is the answer!
See you later - have a great day.
KathyXX
Edited to say (((hugs))) to ANNIEBOOKLOVER - hope you feel better soon; lots of bugs doing the rounds at the moment, but might be worth a trip to the doctor?KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Good morning everyone,
Well I've had a bit of a carp day as well.Woke up on the wrong side of the bed and had a headache to boot. Found out why around mid morning. This is getting ridiculous. DH in bed sick. XDIL is making me want to slash my wrists. But DGS is adorable and the only thing that's stopping me atm.
XDIL going into town tomorrow morning and taking DGS with her so I will do the floors and get a few things done in peace. I've got to go to the other island sometime tomorrow to put in an application for a house for them. There is a house to rent around the corner. Actually it's the one we use to rent when we were building. OS is coming back from the mines and sharing a house with her. He's not really happy about doing it as they are not *friends* and fight like hell but we really can't see another way around it.
The good points outweigh the bad points and at the end of the day it is best for DGS. Sorry for the epic story.I did clean the loo today.
Hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Crazychik ((((hugs)))) & come back soon.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hello :hello: :hello:
Haribo told me she would pull my hair and pinch my dinner money if I didnt post today so here I am:D
Off to brum on the train in an hour or so - not to drink wine and party like at the weekend Im afraid but to worknot too bad though as I am back later this evening.
I did ask if FLYING to Edinburgh tomorrow for work could count as OS but I dont think it would so Im struggling really to find that OS reason to post.
I put the Dishwasher on an hour ago can I have that?
Still no change on the kitchen front which is really frustrating as I am now back to work so its going to be harder to fit in all the necessary visits - it did seem too good to be true - now they have the money they have other priorities I guess:mad:
Right thats enough mindless non OS drivel (see Snowy I can do it soooo much better:rotfl: )
Have a great day all

Twink and Kyle...It's blowing a hooley here too. All the boats are bobbing in the bay and the trees are stripped of their leaves. Hope we don't get cut off.

Good luck at the hospital DG.
Churchmouse....Are you up yet?
Nelski....No...The DW doesn't count....On the floor for 50 scrubs NOW!!!:p
Phew....Well I'm too knackered to write much else.(thank God for that I hear you say)
House is a midden after lasts night's model making. As I was going out the door to my meeting I checked the competition rules one more time for the girls...Turns out the deadline was today not tommorrow. Dtwin1's snowman was done but Dtwin2's rudolf still looked like a collection of loo roll holders. And guess what ....no brown paint. Still, I have now discovered that orange and purple mixed together make a very passable reindeer colour.
Might post pics later...Left OH in charge of serving tea and helping Dtwin1 build a sleigh....BIG MISTAKE!!!! I always wanted my kitchen to look authentically vintage but to look like one that has been hit by the luftwaffe is going a bit far.
So lots of tidying and washing for me, and hoovering and cleaning of floors and making of beds.
Tea will be stew and breakfast was half a packet of chocolate fingers.
Take care all

Hello !
Yes I'm up Haribo, and I was up at the time you posted:p(But I am having trouble waking this last couple of days, are you peering through my windows:rotfl: :rotfl: ) Get back to clearing up after the Luftwaffe!
Aussie, sorry XDIL is driving you crazy. Just keep focused on DGS, without her you wouldn't have him:D
Donnygal, hope the results are good.
crazychik (((((hugs)))))) hope things work out.
anniebooklover, hope you're feeling better soon.
Well I've had a very unproductive day so far. Can't seem to get motivated to do much. But I've just had a lovely phone call from DGS (which is why this has taken so long to type) He's finally agreed to give up the kid's booster toilet seat . :T He, like a lot of children, was frightened of the toilet without the kiddie seat insert, but he was getting way too big for it!! They've been trying to encourage him to give it up for months, and finally this morning he announced he didn't need it anymore. Then he told his Mum he had to phone nanny to tell her:rotfl: The conversation did move on to other topics;)
I have to go and parcel up a Tshirt I bought for DS2, which i ordered in the wrong size:o It's only a small co-operative of designers who hand print them to order, but they've been really nice and said they'll swap it for me. Done much more efficiently and nicely than the big corporations:T
Dinner tonight is going to be like a cafe. All having different things. I'm trying to use up freezer supplies so I've pulled out 4 odd H/M portions, and first in gets to choose. I suppose I'll have to be the hero who takes what's left.
Well best get started,
CMxxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning all!:hello:
LOL at Haribo, but must agree that chocolate fingers are a lovely breakfast. (Long time since I had any for breakfast, mind you.) Chocolate Santas (or Easter eggs) are even better though. Well done on the reindeer paint! I didn't realise the girls were in a competition, must have missed that bit!
Hilstep -many congrats on your engagement! your ring sounds lovely. So sorry about your mum though ((HUGS))
Hardup Hester - Let's hope your lodger does go away for the Christmas hols so you get some peace! Mind you, although she sounds a nightmare as a lodger, I feel a bit sorry for her - it must have been an awful shock to find herself a lot less well-off than she'd expected. She is certainly very lucky to have a landlady like you!
Penny-Pincher - hope OT visit goes well! Lovely that Charlie is doing so well at school. She is a real credit to you and your OH. Wouldn't it be great if she became a vet one day!
Ms-frugal-pants - hopefully DS will let you dress him before your DD's visitor arrives! My DGS, who's now 13yo, hated getting dressed too - I bet he'd be embarrassed if I reminded him now!:p
taplady - hope you and DS enjoy the Careers Evening.
Hi Nelski! i hadn't realised your kitchen wasn't properly finished, what a nuisance - hope you can persuade them to come and sort it soon! BTW did you see, I had your favourite dinner last night - Freezer Surprise!:rotfl:
Aussielass - hope you will feel better tomorrow and enjoy a few hours' peace! Little children, however beloved, are very wearing! ((HUGS)) Good luck with getting the house for them.
Shez - good luck with the cake! You will look lovely in the pumpkin deely-boppers (they are for you, aren't they? come on, admit it:D)
Anniebooklover - that sounds like a nasty virus you've got! Hope it clears up quickly.
ageandjo - how lovely to see a post from you! Welcome back!
Not a lot happening here this morning. DH has gone to college with DSIL as Learning Support Assistant, and I will have gone to a meeting at church before he gets home this evening so he's going to get himself a pizza on his way home. DS has been sick and says he has a splitting headache, but planning to go into work later. I'll wake him at about 11 and ply him with paracetamol.
This afternoon DD2 and I are biting the bullet and taking little DGS to get new shoes. We tried about 10 days ago and he got very upset about having his feet measured, but I think it was because he didn't want to sit still! This time we'll leave him in his pushchair for the measuring - I just hope the shop will be quiet so that we won't have to wait. He's not good at waiting! It will have to be done, as he's had his shoes for 3 months and we're sure they are now too small as you have to push to get them on his feet.
Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone individually, but send best wishes to you all and ((((HUGS)))) to all in need.
