    Hi,

I've been keeping an eye on the Kennedy Website and they've just added two launches on dates when we'll be there, the 9th and 11th September.

Not being a very rocketing person, but someone with an eager family to experience this, can anyone tell me if these launches are worth going too?

The kennedy site says they're taking off from Cape Canaveral Air Base. Is this close to NASA - the family would also like to go to the space centre.

What's the cheapest way to do this "package". Is it possible to watch the rocket launch from outside the base (i.e. free) or is this against rocket launch ethics? Is there a recommended 'freebie' location to do this from?

Does anyone have any tips about the best Space Centre package - we're a family of two adults, two children?

Thanks so much for your advice.

We were there for a launch last year, but decided not to go on the launch date, as allegedly the traffic takes hours to get home. The tickets for the launch pad sell out in literally minutes, so the rest of the watchers will watch from the main centre which is about 5 miles from the pad.

Alternatively, some of the local beaches on that coast are a great free way to see it, and do "lunch with an astronaut" a couple of days before, along with the tour of the site, which will be half closed on a launch day.

Tip - tour tickets are valid for a return visit, so you *may* be able to pass/sell tickets on to someone else.....get it stamped on your way out.....I guess its the same as sharing Disney tickets ie everyone does it even though youre not meant to.

Looking to not take many new clothes to Florida because i'am wanting to buy them out there, the only thing is i have short legs (i'am 5ft 4"). Do they cater for shorties or will i need to get them taken up like i do in england. If so do they have this facility in the shopping malls and are they quick ?

You can't share tickets - they are non-transferable

Would you want your children embarrassed at the entrance to Disney when they check your tickets? I'd say not, so I wouldn't even think about going down that route.

In America they cater for everything and everyone even short people clothing is so cheap but if you are petite try looking in kids ranges there. I go regular to America at Xmas and always buy cheap clothing for the year all designer for my son and when hes finished i sell them on ebay for more than i paid..

you sometimes have to use your fingerprint as well. They can be very keen especially at Universal the last time i went the questioned my son who was 9 at the time about his age as tickets change to adult prices after that.

We beeped every time we went thru the turnstile at Disney at the fingerprint machine, and they waved us through every time.

Now, when the fingerprint machine beeps at the airport.......thats when you really are in trouble.
