Cheers for the good advice guys. I think we will go for beginning of May and try and avoid the rush! Will all the Parks and attractions be open?

I think we will go for a villa as well so thanks for pointing out the good things about that. We have decided to go for cheapish rates of about £350 to £400 per week.

Only other thing (to get the ball rolling) is the flights. What kind of price should I be expecting to pay at that time of year? I found one on last min . com for about £350 pp. Is that about right?

    Tony

All the parks are open all year round, even Christmas Day! What you may find it the hours though, they may be slightly shorter. For instance in the Summer the MK is often open until 11pm and in the spring thats 9pm. Makes no nevermind really as its less busy in spring so you get it all done.

For flights for a schedule airline like BA than 350 pp is about right. Sometumes you can get it for less. Some Charter flights often go for around 200 quid but thats really last min things.

Use a site like https://www.kayak.co.uk who are really food for finding soemthing

I have been looking for tickets for a while now, as we fly out in 60 days. Like everyone else I was looking for the 14 day £220 ticket, but yesterday I decided differently.

We have been before so have done all the disney parks. I found we only park hopped once and I think we visitted MGM 3 times, MK twice and the other 2 only once. We also did 2 water parks.

So, I decided that the 7 day Magic your way MAGIC PLUS @ 171.87 with orlandoattractions was a far better idea. No park hopping, but 7 days in the parks and 7 days in the "other" things - like waterparks. More than enough for us and £50 cheaper.
Definately worth considering, especially if you have been before.
We will also be visiting universal, so we are unlikely even to use the 7 days.

If you intend to go again then you can always take this ticket to guest services and have the "no expiration" option added to it. You can also add days to it as well and the difference in price is quite small to go from 7 to 10 days. The No Expiration is a little more expensive at about 50 dollars a day but worth it if you don't want to lose the unused days.

    Cheers

This is exactly what we've decided to do. We are also not sure whether we will use all the days or not, if not we'll go and see guest services near the end of our holiday and see about upgrading to non-expiry, extra days etc. Very cost effective I'd say.

An interesting one, anyone got any smashing ideas for Father's Day (Sunday 21 June this year) as we will be in Orlando?!

Don't want to spend too much, maybe a nice meal or something a bit different?

My dad has just started clay shooting, but I can't seem to find anything like that out there so he can forget about it...

    Hi

Clay shootin I think is called Skeet shooting. Try these links if that helps

It's an eight-seater and there are seven of us. I know luggage will be a problem, but happy to do two runs to/from the airport if necessary. Has anyone driven one recently and think it will be OK or otherwise?

I don't think we can upgrade to anything bigger unless we go with a van - nah!

if that 7 is made upo of two familys then get two cars (large ones). Otherwise you will be running a cab firm for your holiday as people WILL want to do different things. Also two runs from the airport, its at least 45 misn each way plus drop off, a long time.

The 8 seaters are OK, they are like the shuttle buses etc

Try the car hire companies I posted above, you will be impressed I am sure

We have hired a Durango several times - with 6 it was an incredibly tight squeeze - there is hardly any luggage space. Last time we hired a Kia 'caravan' type people carrier - much more comfortable with plenty of space - I will stick with these now even though they are not as sporty looking as the SUV:D

We had the Dodge ram. Although comfortable enough and we managed [just] to get the luggage in. It was unwieldy and felt as if it would tip over at any corner at speed. There were also notices in the van about them tipping over.
With 7 of you hopefully more than one driver I would truly recommend two cars. There are so many different places to go to.You may have half want to go to TL and the other BB. Two cars will save a lot of debate!!! [and sulking]

I used Thomas Cook in the end as they had the best deal for the ultimate. Not got tickets yet as they issue them 2 weeks before you go.
