Can I please have your recommendations please?
Not so much a list but a very good sight detailing good and bad.

Last time we hired a Kia 'caravan' type people carrier - much more comfortable with plenty of space - I will stick with these now even though they are not as sporty looking as the SUV:D
I had one of these:
Plenty of room.

I have been looking for tickets for a while now, as we fly out in 60 days. Like everyone else I was looking for the 14 day £220 ticket, but yesterday I decided differently.
We have been before so have done all the disney parks. I found we only park hopped once and I think we visitted MGM 3 times, MK twice and the other 2 only once. We also did 2 water parks.
So, I decided that the 7 day Magic your way MAGIC PLUS @ 171.87 with orlandoattractions was a far better idea. No park hopping, but 7 days in the parks and 7 days in the "other" things - like waterparks. More than enough for us and £50 cheaper.
Definately worth considering, especially if you have been before.
We will also be visiting universal, so we are unlikely even to use the 7 days.
I added the non expiry to a 7 day premium last time we were there 3 yrs ago and they gave me an extra plus day (water park etc) cost me $45 at the time which was about £28 well worth it .Going in October and dont have to purchace any Disney tickets Got 3 land and 3 plus days left.0 -
An interesting one, anyone got any smashing ideas for Father's Day (Sunday 21 June this year) as we will be in Orlando?!
Don't want to spend too much, maybe a nice meal or something a bit different?
My dad has just started clay shooting, but I can't seem to find anything like that out there so he can forget about it...
Hi Nicky wanted to do something similar for my mum, took her to Kobe japanese steakhouse and had the tapinyaki (were they cook on a hot plate in front of you) .we had the Imperial dinner, 5 courses for $25 i think .Its brilliant fun ,my mum loved it so much we went again .They have places at kissimee ,I drive ,LBV ,check out their website.0 -
It's an eight-seater and there are seven of us. I know luggage will be a problem, but happy to do two runs to/from the airport if necessary. Has anyone driven one recently and think it will be OK or otherwise?
I don't think we can upgrade to anything bigger unless we go with a van - nah!
Nicky - we were out there in April and had 8 seater, it was a Ford mini-van and had plenty of room in the back for luggage.
2 People in the front, and then a sliding door to get access to 2 rows of 3 people.
It might look a bit big and scarey but American roads are fine for driving something like that
The seating for the Durango:

Will be VERY tight for luggage
As has been suggested, if it is 2 families, get 2 cars (we took the minivan and a car - cheaper on parking if you are all going to the same place, but has the flexibility if you want to do different things)0 -
Been looking at the last few posts regarding minivans etc, there are 9 of us in total going (mums 70th B/day) all adults .We are looking at medium car + minivan 7 seater, recommendations please as to which minivan is best, was thinking Dodge Durango but now not sure.0

The cost difference between a med and a MV and two MV's is not that great and I would do two MV's for the room.
Durango is not really a mini van but a SUV or Sports Utility Vechicle. If you are able to choose a minivan then go for for the "grand caravan" from Dodge rather than the standard "caravan" as it has a bigger boot

Toddy, if you are always going to be going in 2 cars I would have thought you will be fine - the rear seats fold flat in the Durango, so it will be a 5 -seater with lots of luggage space, and 4 people in the other car. Make sure the other car is a medium though, we got a compact and the boot wasn't big enough for 2 suitcases!!
Just remember that parking in all the places is chargable (about $12, I think), so you will be paying double - but I am not sure what you would be getting if you went for a 9+ seater, never done anything that big!0 -
I have hired a 12 seater for July and didn't think on parking, i take it parking then won't bne the same as we had for a car or 7 seater minivan0

Depends what you mean by parking? Price wise it is the same at the parks but manouevering the 12 seater is a bit more tricky!0
