Hi, we have just got back and we used this company. Not impressed I'm afraid craig
The car that picked us up was beautiful and the driver lovely.
However, he asked me to include his tip onto the invoice and took 41% which I thought was a bit steep but thought it must be for the return journey as well, but when the guy came to pick us up for the return journey it was a different guy and he was in a 'not so nice' people carrier/mini bus so I had to tip him again
It ended up costing me $155 dollars for a trip that took 15 or 20 mins each way.
My husband had to come out 3 days later ( due to virgin not allowing my daughter to fly due to a passport error) and he caught a mears taxi from the airport and it cost $45 for a one way trip.
I know which one I'd choose next time.
    HTH

OMG thats terrible news I am really sorry to hear that. Drop me a PM withyour email address and I will get onto them for you. I spend a lot of time recommending these people and I woudl expect a much better service that what you have received.

    Thanks

we used https://www.villarenters.com simply because you pay via a middle company, they charge a flat fee of £15, but there's no foreign transaction cheques etc to worry about/pay for, and they have a great range of villa with pics, descriptions reviews etc. they are also good at liasing with the owner if there's a problem with the booking (e.g. we needed pool heating added, they made sure the owner organised this)

    Return journey--flight from hell.
Our aircraft was being used for repatriation flights from Mexico and aircraft not in right place.
Aircraft we had same 767 but different layout. Bloody jammed packed, old and uncomfortable.
Crew, a Thompson crew on a First Choice aircraft they were not happy and two of them the rudest I have ever heard. Clare, lovely girl stew. worked her butt off you could tell she was a bit embarrassed by the antics of the other two. She told us it was like going back to the 70's. Apology from the captain about the aircraft and then He threw it into the ground at Gatwick, a real rough landing! We must have been a mile and a half from baggage reclaim. Some walk after that flight.
How two flights could be so different I cannot fathom. If the return flight had been the first flight I would be trying to and recommending not to use First Choice. However the outward flight excellent! And I like Sanford after the starchiness of the MCO.

Thanks for your help and concern craig, not looking for anything out of it, just bad luck on our part from the sounds of it.

Apart from that we had a fab time and thanks to everyone who take the time to post their useful tips. It was very helpful.

No probs at all, as you know I have swapped emails with Tiffanys and they want to sort this out. This is not their usual service.

But glad you had an awesome time and can start planning your return trip :)

    Cheers

  • I just booked a hotel through priceline on the name your price deal. I got the Sheraton Orlando - Downtown Orlando at $45 per night. I have never been to florida and will not be hiring a car. I am just worried that it might be hard to get the parks from there without a car and am not too sure about the hotel. Just wondered if anyone who has been to florida before could give me some advice on getting around etc. Cheers

    Hi

If this is the hotel http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1566 then I do not want to put you off but I think its is the business City centre of Orlando.

But the good news is that its about exit 82 or something from the i4 so about 30 mins to the parks as per this map http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=60+South+Ivanhoe+Boulevard+%C2%B7+Orlando,+Florida+32804&daddr=Walt+Disney+World,+United+States&geocode=%3BFfj0sAEdg3sj-yn_1MGDtH_diDEgbpZGd0wHDw&hl=en&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=28.432791,-81.508536&sspn=0.37799,0.617981&ie=UTF8&ll=28.460844,-81.469803&spn=0.37789,0.617981&t=h&z=11
Its quite a simple drive so you might want to consider a car otherwise it will probably be a taxi ride
