I bought our flexticket+ from Virgin Holidays website last Wednesday (18th). We have not booked anything else with them & I have today received an email from them telling me that you can only purchase park tickets from them if you have booked a holiday through them.
They have taken my deposit payment & I am just waiting for the invoice before I pay the rest. Does anybody know whether they can change their minds & refund the payment or am I likely to have just scraped in?
Thanks
Mike
I hope you have scraped in, because I bought mine Monday and paid the whole thing off.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
Hi All
I'm no Florida expert (been twice in 11 years) but just got back from Orlando yesterday and wanted to share some info.
We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter - what a lovely place.
We used the Disney transport buses and boats, very reliable, handy and efficient. I think you would need a car if you were staying longer and wanted to travel further afield.
We still had to fill in a "green card" on the plane even though we had completed our ESTA on line.
Our rep said the shops and restaurants weren't accepting travellers cheques as readily as there had been a lot of fraud and to change them in our hotel. This was very easy to do, we could change $200 per day.
Take advantage of the Disney guests Extra Magic Hours to beat the queues. The longest wait we saw was 90 mins, also use the fast pass system.
The nightclubs are closed at Downtown Disney for refurb but everything else is open. There is a new tethered hot air balloon ride due to open in April its about $16 to go up and $2000 to come down ha ha.
We bought our park tickets through our travel agent who used North American Representatives in Berkshire (0870 7778877) last November, they were 7 day park hoppers for the 4 Disney parks and cost us £199 each, not sure how this compares to others. They were actual tickets as opposed to vouchers.
Just wanted to share this - it all helpsDon't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
hi. Have been looking at different sites to try and get cheap tickets to Disney and Orlando. Have found a few and the one of the cheapest seems to be www. parktickets. Does any one know any thing about them?Nice to save.0

Hi,
I returned from Disney yesterday, had a fab time!
We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside- it was a great hotel, it is really big and has a great pool for kids. We also spent 3 days at The Grand Floridian for 3 days which was very nice, but my whole party agreed 3 days was enough otherwise all you would think of was the money!
Disney buses were great, we waited a maximum of 15 minutes, although we only left at park closing once, when we did there were several buses ready to take guests back.
Weather was nice for families as it was warm, but cloudy so you werent in blistering heat all the time.
We too filled in a ESTA form online but it didnt make a difference, we still had to fill in a Green Form which was actually quite annoying as you filled in the info twice.
Flew with Virgin and was VERY dissapointed. They had seatback entertainment but only showed the movies at a set time- they had 10 movies to choose from, but they started at say 7.30pm, so if you missed the start (at the loo, busy with child etc) then you couldnt watch one till they started over again- two hours later. Also the food was very average, and they ran out of the option i wanted on BOTH flights!
If any one has any questions, then let me know and i will try and answer them.
LittleMissBossy- Did you take a trip up to Riverside? We went to French Quarter for breakfast one day, to try the beignets as suggested on here (very nice) but agreed that we preferred Riverside as it was bigger, whereas FQ seemed a little claustrophobic?0 -
Just posted full details on The Dibb but thought you ticket-hunters might find it handy: managed to get adult Five-park Flexticket for £125 and a Five-day Premium ticket for £185 at Thomas Cook:j0

Hi Chillerman,
You have to contact the shop direct as TCook's webiste redirects you Keith Prowse tickets which are very expensive. I found out from a Tripadvisor thread that an Enfield branch was doing tickets cheap (since gone up I think). Phoned my local store to see if the tickets would be discounted nationally, the rep seemed to think they should be. Called me back with the above quote.
I had booked my hotel with them but I don't think this made a difference. I suggest doing what I did, and mention that other branches seem to have cheap tickets and see what they come back with. Hope you get lucky.0 -
A bit more info as I spoke to my friend today who went into pay for the tickets.
It seems the staff were unaware that there is something on TCook's instore booking system that allows them to get onto Keith Prowse's website (which Tcook redirect you to if you book at home online), that somehow lets them get tickets cheaper.
If they don't know what to do get them to call Enfield branch or the Torquay branch (which is where we got our tickets from.)0 -

Hi JustWonderful
We did take a trip to Riverside we walked along the riverbank and also used the pleaseure boat which was really nice. The Riverside site was a lot bigger as you said but we did really enjoy FQ, after a long day in the parks it was good not to have too far to trek to our room. The food court was a bit if a bun fight though.
We travelled with First Choice but we did upgrade to Premium which cost us £180 each. I felt it was really worth the extra money as the seats were a lot wider, you could pause and rewind the movies and also we were lucky enough to get row A so no one in front of us gave us a little bit more room.
Did you go to Downtown Disney? we ate a Planet Hollywood, we really enjoyed that.Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.0 -
