i dont really want to drive while im there as I would be quite worried but if it is really going toimpact on the holiday then I will hire a car - i dont mind spending a bit longer on the journeys by using a bus but I dont want to stuck either.
How far away is BV from the parks ? am i making a massive mistake ?
ive stayed in disney the past few times and had no problems whatsoever using transport0 -

First of all no one who has driven in Florida would ever advise you not to drive. Personally i would advise not to go without a car. I think people expect Orlando to be like a long street of park after park. In reality it is an area the size of Gtr Manchester with a few parks scattered in between.
In terms of from BV it depends which park you are going to. It might take 10 mins to Blizzard beach driving, but on the bus haveing to go via a hotel it might take an hour. In searing heat, with all your stuff and a peak times this would be a nightmare.
BV is an ok area and i doubt you'll be dissapointed. But i prefer Kissimmee, that said you're near Downtown Disney so you can still get !!!!ed and have good food but expect it to be much more expensive.
The reality is though, in the USA they dont have pavements like we do, almost everyone is expected to drive and Orlando is no different. You will completely wipe out most oppertunities to visit Clearwater (the US best beach) Miami, Everglades, Keys, Tampa etc etc.
If you can drive you'd be a fool not to.0 -
depends what you want in a holiday - i like to be driven around and relax. driving is not my idea of fun.
i know the place is big but it is accessible if you plan what you want to do on what days.0 -

I love to relax too.
But given each coast is only an hour away, and most parks are within 20 mins. I can't see why anyone would go without a car.
Its a dead argument imo.
Car or no car - car would win hands down every time.0 -
so up to an hour in a bus.... big deal....
life is just not about getting from a to b
its enjoying the in between part as well and i for one enjoy sitting and sometimes speaking to the locals and other tourists on the buses and being sociable.0
