so up to an hour in a bus.... big deal....
life is just not about getting from a to b
its enjoying the in between part as well and i for one enjoy sitting and sometimes speaking to the locals and other tourists on the buses and being sociable.
Thats fine.
But when i pay thousands to holiday abroad and only have two weeks id rather enjoy what happens when im at a or b not the part inbetween
For that id go on a fly drive - which still includes a car0 -
i enjoy the whole experience of all my holidays and love the travelling around as well on public transport and not using a car, however i have a young daughter who is well behaved on public transport and enjoys it as well as its like a little adventure to her.
each to their own....0 -
i might take my license just in case then!! I was just worried about driving on the other side of the road, not knowing their rules and ive never driven an automatic, i thought the public transport would be really frequent.
Re the tickets, should i just get them out there - we really do want to go to universal and the space centre and busch gardens, not bothered about miami or anything like that though.
Also what about spending money ? How much do you take ? Im aiming to take about thousand pounds for the fortnight, we are RO so will need to buy everything - does that sound OK - im not sure i can get anymore than that.
Thanks for all your help :-)I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

nothing to be nervous about.
your kid must be bouncing of the walls excited about it, mines was.
why are you nervous?0 -
I dont think my daughter can really comprehend just what its going to be like! LOL
I'm nervous because its so far away and its just the two of us and Im worried we either wont have enough money or wont be able to get around, just being silly really - I'm very aware that we're 'on our own' if you know what I mean.
Having never been before I dont want to put a downer on the holiday because of making silly mistakesI understand ALOT more than I care to let on

I know what you mean
I feel very safe there and more so than I do in Spain for example. I split my money into the nomber of days I am there, any money left rolls onto the next day etc so by the end you will know if you any extras left for shopping. The people there are very friendly, just ask them if you get stuck. Taxis are fine if you have a lot of shopping to carry but if you dont just use the buses. Although its really big there its really easy to find your way around.
Hope this helps0 -
thank you, you've all been a great help, really do appreciate it.
Great idea about the money - i'm going to do that !I understand ALOT more than I care to let on
