Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I have been to Disney quite a few time but never before in the role of a mummy! Thanks for the tips!
I hadn't considered it could be cold so thanks for that tip!

vivatifosi has given some excellent advice there :T
I would add, a good way to spend time with the characters for your LOs is to book a character meal (free for children under 3). Be aware that some children get a bit frightened of the sheer size of the characters but I can honestly say that my 3 year old LOVED them. It was pure magic to see her hugging Minnie Mouse :T
Epcot can be deemed a little bit dry for younger children (my whole family loves it so I can't agree) but some good ways to make it more interesting for children are the Epcot KidCot Fun stops. In the World Showcase in all the countries they can get a mask to decorate and then at each country they get a dangly symbol to hang from it - my kids LOVED doing this. It's free
There's something similar at the Future World attractions too.

Hi All
I am planning my first hol to Florida for this summer, there is myself, OH and 2 children. Was thinking about staying on International Drive but not too keen on spending 2 wks with all of us sleeping in 1 rm as many of the hotels seem to be. Have seen a place called Floridays that looks nice, has any one got any recommendations ?
Also looking for flights, are there sales on a particular times of the year or am I just better to book asap?
Thanks0 -
I am going to Florida on 19th January, first time I have been brave enough to take my 2 lo's on holiday!
I only have park tickets left to organise - would be grateful of advice on where to get them.
Also if anyone has any pearls of wisdom on how to make the holiday with a 2 yr old and a 3 year old easier???
Thank you!
Hi,
I use www.attractiontix.co.uk/usa.asp they offer all the tickets you will need, and guarantee to beat any other prices!0 -

You might be better looking at hiring a villa, lots of them are really close to the parks, and you have lots more freedom to come and go as you please. Try looking at the villa hire section on www.thedibb.co.uk website - there is also lots of help and advice on thereYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

) does anybody know of any reputable websites where we could look at booking a house / villa for a fortnight ?
First time Ive ever done it so bit nervous of messing up and getting conned.
Many thanks
Hi Tricky,
Take a look at www.directvillasflorida.com you can book villas direct from the owners thereby keeping the cost as low as possible. They also have some fab maps which help you see where everything is. Re getting conned issue, you can have the villa checked against Florida property appraiser records before you book, just ask the admin staff on the site and they will confirm the of ownership individual properties, a great safety net .0 -

As a single dad of 2 i went to Orlando Jan 2007 and the kids loved it.
Dont get confused, usually it is freezing cold until about 10am then it warms up. Throughout the day it was pleasently warm. I would much rather go when its cool rather than red hot. I was in Disneyland in California and it was 30+ and it was too hot to do anything.
I am back again next week, and whilst my 3 year old has been out of a pram all year i am digging it out of the cupboard and taking it. Not just for her, but also to put coats and stuff in.
Finally my last bit of advice and something i stand by. Hire a car. Orlando is not as 'compact' as you might think. From WDW to Universal was about a 20 min drive, and Busch gardens os over an hour, KSC is an hour. Not only that but when i went there were 2 days of cool rainy weather. Just hopped in the car and drove to Miami for some sun and superbowl :j(which is absolute garbage fwiw)0 -

Best time to go to Orlando is Jan 14 - Feb 29 or October 1 - November 31
Best place from experience to stay would be Oak Plantation Villas (only if you drive) Me and kids loved it.0 -

While I partly agree with that, it can be busy in the parks late Feb due to Spring Break, and the end of November is Thanksgiving and very busy in the parks!
The very quietest time in the parks is the first two weeks of December, but the weather is more of a gamble then.0 -
