If you don't wish to contribute positively keep your thoughts and opinions to yourself, you obviously haven't got kids yourself !
and your contributions have been most forthcoming.
if you introduced your self a little more positive to the thread, maybe done just a smudge of research, asked a bit nicer, people would have jumping at the chance to help.
when in may are you going?

Personally I wouldn't bother with Universal its not half as good as Disney. If you go to Disney id get the 14 Day Ultimate ticket which allows you to park hop (go to more than 1 park a day) at the moment the cheapest UK price I have found for this is £169. But ive been told its worth checking with the Disney Shop and also emailing Virgin!
2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j
  • Which parks should I visit (WDW and/or Universal etc) ? Disney is fab so we always buy a 14 day Ultimate pass as it covers all parks and water parks, but we also love the Blues Brothers at Universal

What ticket(s) should I buy and from where please ? viator was the cheapest place for us for Universal and IOA last year http://www.viator.com/tours/Orlando/Universal-Orlando-2-Park-Unlimited-Admission-Ticket-for-7-Days/d663-3088_2D

Car Hire - any tips (eg what size car for 4 persons, booster seat required, total damage waiver etc) and links on where to hire ? Take a booster seat with you to save on costs. Can't remember what age you need it up to, my youngest is 8 now and we didn't use one this year or last. We find a 4 door intermediate is big enough for us and the luggage comfortably and there are usually 4 of us http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/

Can you recommend any places to eat Look on the forums on the dibb for lots of info http://www.thedibb.co.uk/

Places other than Disney to visit (eg Clearwater or Daytona) 'Celebration' is lovely, sit on a rocking chair and watch the world go by, or do a segway tour. Haven't been to Clearwater but a friend recommended it. We also went horseriding http://www.horseworldstables.com/ and a rodeo this year and loved it! Not sure if there will be anything on your dates we went end May/June http://www.silverspursrodeo.com/calender.html

Night Life - any suggestions ? If you are not exhausted Medieval Times is a good night out. ;)

    Hi all,
This is my first post. Rather than spend time searching through all the previous posts I would appreciate some sound advice for a 2 week trip to Orlando in May 09.
    Kids are aged 12, 10 and 5.
    Flights and villa already booked.

I kinda see why you got the response you did.

I know its much easier to ask those that offer help but you have to help yourself first mate.

    I am gutted :(

    I am sad :(

I am sick with envy at all the lucky sods who got them.

I can not even get close to that in econ let alone posh seats

I'm extremely grateful, thank very much.
As a single parent dad its hard to find time to do all the searching, hence the reason I posted my thread on here I was just hoping that seasoned epxerts would come to my rescue and help with good solid advice.
The holiday is for the kids not me, I just want them to have the best time possible.
    Thanks once again.

If you mean racing at Daytona there is nothing on in May, Nascar are there in February. If your kids like race cars there is a Nascar themed Restaurant at I think Universal City Walk which is nice for a meal out and they have cars on display.

Busch Gardens in Tampa is well worth a day trip a great park for kids and adults.

I started a thread on the 'Grab It' forum about this deal. I submitted it, read it and when I went to check for any replies ten minutes later it had been pulled!
I have no idea why and I didn't get a message telling me why either
