Outfox The Market Direct Debit changes

  • "If you feel that your new Direct Debit amount does not match your expected usage during the winter, please email mr@outfoxthemarket.co.uk with a photo of an up-to-date meter reading and we will conduct a further review."

So if the increase does not reflect my usage it can be reviewed.

Yes I am aware of the increases , these are across the whole market as they are due to wholesale prices increasing.
I feel some of the previous comments have implied dishonesty by OFTM .
They are still over 20% cheaper for me.

The last thing U.K. consumers need is for the smaller suppliers to go bust and for the big greedy suppliers to hold a monopoly.

It's curious that there are so many relatively new posters coming online to defend OutFox...

The sooner they go out of business the better!! I hope the directors get properly screwed personally and hope they are blacklisted from operating in the industry again.

    LOL!!!

How are OutFox or the customer ever going to deduce their "expected usage" based on their recent usage. Its clearly a barrier for people to people paying the appropriate amount.

I'd also be amazed if anyone has had a proper response to their email nevermind a change in the direct debit - they are nowhere near their "contact within 2 working days of receiving a complaint" are per their complaints policy.

    Dear Customer,

Important changes to your energy prices

The last two weeks have been difficult for both Outfox the Market and our valued customers. It is evident that we have made some decisions that have proved unpopular and we are sorry for any undue worry we may have caused. Whilst we can appreciate your frustrations, these changes have been unavoidable and introduced in a bid to keep your prices as low as possible.

The energy market continues to face challenges, this week two independent suppliers have been forced to cease trading, joining five other companies who have folded since the start of the year.

Wholesale energy prices have risen exponentially throughout 2018 and for this reason we are unable to sustain our current pricing model. Therefore, we will be implementing further changes to react to the energy market environment. These changes are detailed below.

From 1st January 2019 your electricity unit rate will change from £0.1146/kWh to £0.1329/kWh.

Your gas unit rate will change from £0.0373/kWh to £0.0429/kWh

Your monthly membership fee will be replaced by a daily standing charge of 28p per fuel.

    Good News!

From January 1st, the energy regulator Ofgem is introducing a price cap to ensure no-one pays more than a fair price for their energy. Our commitment to you, is that our prices will always be below this cap - and we promise to keep it that way.

The table below provides detail of your current prices and the new prices.
    Payable from 1st January 2019.

    Your prices until
    31st December 2018

    Your prices from

    Electricity Unit Rate

    Increase

    Projected Annual cost

Look at that standing charge increase hidden away at the end of the email! That would be an extra £10 per month for anyone on their low use tariff.

Yep I'm on low. When I joined 2 months ago based on last years unit use my cost was to be £472 now based todays email and using last years units again and not the lower estimate in the email (be careful of that) it's £672 that's 30% increase. :rotfl:
